The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

Nick, did you say you're running two 4K monitors after the UEFI modifiction ? Did you ever try 1080p monitors before you did that ? I'm thinking that maybe makes a difference whether or not dual monitors will work. Increasing DVMT to 96 MB may be the thing that is important here.
Not absolutely certain but Im fairly sure that I had 2 1920x1080 monitors working perfectly before learning about the changes for 4k. Others have built from the alternative thread and have reported it working without mentioning any uefi changes. Edit - and the selection of Intel rather than Auto is significant too, not certain about Catalina but for Mojave I think the settings are spot on and all those mentioned are significant.

I can say with confidence that I had 2 monitors 1920x1080 using onboard Gfx. one DP-HDMI convertor to HDMI-DVI and one DP-HDMI.

one DP-HDMI convertor to HDMI-DVI
You used two different adapters for one monitor and it worked ? Amazing. Couldn't find any DP to DVI cable or adapter ?

No. Two monitors, One 24" Sceptre which only had HDMI, so I was able to use the DP-HDMI cable. The other monitor was given to me, it's fairly old and has a tint to it, a Samsung SyncMaster 213t. That uses DVI so I can connect to it via a DP to HDMI convertor and then HDMI to DVI. Following @nicksoph thread Dell 7020 - Using only onboard HD4600 GPU Build Files and Overview for the experienced. 4K ready. I did get 2K on both monitors but it was a little small and the SyncMaster was letter boxed, looked good in portrait though.

Have you tried changing the Primary Display BIOS setting to Intel HD Graphics instead of Auto ? If not give that a go. Also try the SMBIOS of iMac 14,1 as that is for an iMac that only has Iris Pro 5200 gfx and no Nvidia GPU.

Ive NOT checked thoroughly but there is at least 1 difference between yours and the config.plist in https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...overview-for-the-experienced-4k-ready.279108/ - (Plugintype), and there may be others in the config.plist which Ive not noticed and the BIOS settings are critical and those cant be checked those from PR files.

Thanks for both your help. But I tried everything the settings in my bios are and were correct. I loaded default and set it all again still the same problem persisted. Anyway after a few nights and hair pulling the only thing I could think of was the ram as it was 1333mhz 16gb so I replaced it with 1600mhz and nope still the same then I replaced the cpu for an i7 4790 still the same problem. So I gave up and bought a RX 560 and a riser card cut a slit into the side panel and stuck the card on the outside with double sided tape. Problem solved.

That will be a challenge. It's very doable though. Follow nicksoph's guide and post there in his thread if you have any questions.
@trs96 Just wanted to say thanks for all your help and your great guide again. Catalina is now installed on an Optiplex 9020 i5-4570S USFF with everything working including iMessage. Thanks to @nicksoph's post I've also got 4K at 60Hz working via the inbuilt HD4600.

Congratulations on the good work you did to pull all that off so quickly.

Cheers. It would have been faster if the UPS guy hadn’t missed the delivery yesterday lol. Seriously though it was mainly down to the guides on here so really just a case of following them carefully.

Great, Thank you for the response!
I saw another post listing OS X compatible card (Startech I think) I'll give it a go.
I have the following cards installed in a couple machines, all working great.
SIIG DP FireWire 800 PCI-32T NN-830112-S2 Card
