Hello good people of TonyMacx86.

Here is my short sorry:
3 years ago I made a custom Hackintosh which worked well with macOS Sierra until now but the day had to come and I had to update my
system.
I finally did it, reinstalled it on a new SSD and after a few days off 'suffering' I finally installed everything (at least the most important staff)!

My problem is that as I see the injected nVidia driver recognizes only 2GB instead of the 6GB it has and I don't know how to solve it,
what to install, uninstall or configure (see attached screenshoots of my previous and current setup)!

Also the whole system is "laggy" and slow, it's like it's not at full potential, I think it's because of the Graphic driver not configured properly or maybe am I missing something else !?

If you need anything else please let me know and
PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks you very much!!!

Use supported hardware.

There are no Catalina (or Mojave) drivers for a GTX 980.

Supposedly there is
You are misinformed.

This is a Fix for Graphics Intel HD 3000 and fix Old NVIDIA Graphics for macOS Catalina 10.15
Support Graphics Intel HD 3000. Support: GeForce 5xx, 4xx, 2xx, 8600M(GT)/8800M(GT), 9400M/9600M(GT), 320M/330M
For macOS Catalina 10.15 Beta and Release

I tried all of this solutions and they don't seem to work!
A 980 Ti is not "old enough" Nvidia graphics to work with that method. You can stay with High Sierra and Web drivers or buy a supported AMD card.

1.) Is there ever going to be a release to support these cards, like the 980TI ?
2.) What would be a good AMD equivalent for my 980TI ?

Thanks for the help!

Have a look at the specs and some reviews of the 5500 and 5700 XT cards by AMD. Those are the newest ones with support in Catalina.

We cannot predict the future but all the signs are that there will be no support.

Thanks for the quick reply!

How about the Radeon RX 5600 XT 6GB GDDR6? Will it work with Catalina ?
I saw that its between the 2 cards in price and performance!

I saw also the XFX Radeon RX 5700 DD Ultra 8GB GDDR6!

What do you think ?
Please help me out so that I can order one of them and finish my update as soon as possible!

Thanks again for the help!
