Hello!
I recently set out to complete my first full build using all of the hardware from the Buyer's Guide. I have everything working successfully (Catalina 10.15.3) with the exception of my MSI RX 580 Armor GPU. I have heard the RX 580 should be easily compatible, so I’m sure I must be making a simple mistake somewhere along the line.
BUILD:
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI
CPU: i7-9700K
Drive: Samsung 860 EVO 500GB
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT (16GB)
Graphics: MSI Radeon RX 580 Armor OC 8GB
BIOS CONFIGURATION:
WHAT I’VE TRIED:
With the GPU removed, Integrated Graphics set as primary in BIOS, and ‘Inject Intel’ checked, I can boot up Catalina 10.15.3 without any problems. However, as soon as I install the GPU I am unable to boot past the Apple Logo. I have tried the following without success:
NOTE: I’m not sure if it makes a difference or not, but when I installed Catalina on the SSD I did NOT have the GPU installed, only used the Integrated Graphics.
I have also attached my EFI folder below.
Any ideas? If there's anything else I can upload for more context let me know. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

- Connected to HDMI, DVI, DP, etc. (tried all ports on GPU, best I can get is a black screen)
- Enabled/Disabled integrated graphics in BIOS
- Checked/unchecked ‘Inject DeInit’
- Checked/unchecked ‘Inject ATI’
- Checked/unchecked ‘Inject Intel’
- SMBIOS set to iMac 14,2 | 18,3 | 19,1
- Lilu and WhateverGreen kexts placed in /EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other/
- Set InjectKexts = Yes
