Hello toleda,
I have a new clean install of macOS 10.15.3 on my Old haswell board using DVI port converted to HDMI Display.
WhateverGreen,AppleALC and Lilu were installed on L/E. It boots normally and I also got internal speaker working.

But i got problem as described below:
  1. Description of HDMI audio problem
I have no HDMI audio working on my build. It only has "Internal Speaker" Output device. That means i only can use 3.5mm jack Speaker.
My board only has DVI and VGA ports, it's not equipped with an HDMI port. So i have to use converter to plug the HDMI cable into my primary Display Monitor.
I can confirm that There is no output device listed on system preferences > Sound > Output (screenshot attached)
I'm not applying any patched DSDT/SSDT on clover folder.

  2. macOS version/motherboard model/BIOS version/processor/graphics
    macOS Catalina 10.15.3 / Asus H81M-C / BIOS version 3602(latest) / Intel Core i3-4130 / Intel HD 4400

  3. Procedure/Guide used
    II. AppleHDA HDMI Audio Methods > A. AMD/Nvidia/Intel - acidanthera/WhateverGreen
  4. Copy of IOReg - IOReg_v2.1 (Tools2.)

  5. Terminal - 4 commands, attach Terminal output

  6. Copy installed S/L/E/AppleHDA.kext (10.11 and newer, search: show hidden files)

Sorted? You sure you have a second audio device? Use hackintool or dcpimanager to see.
You may not since theres no HDMI port. Because haswell should be easy.

Hi chumdoggin, thank you for your answer.
I can confirm there is no second audio device, screenshots attached.
For now, i think i should consider to buy a new board with HDMI or get a new supported PCIE graphic card.

Hi all - I have an opencore vanilla Catalina (15.3) install on my lattepanda, audio codec Realtek ALC269VC.

HDMI audio isn’t working BUT I did have it working on a previous install of Mojave - though I did have to pull out the HDMI plug and put back in to be registered. For my previous install my SMBIOS was MacBookAir8,1 as this seemed to be about the closest to my CPU/GPU spec. I don’t remember what alcid I used. Now I’m using SMBIOS macbookpro 14,3 (as this was the closest of the Kaby Lake recommendations in the opencore laptop guide) and AAPL,ig-platform-id = 00001659. I’ve found a bunch of alcid’s that work for the headphone port (lattepanda only has headphone port) - 7, 8, 10, 14, 17, but non of them are getting the HDMI audio. Given it did work before, I’d really like to just use the current AppleALC and modify settings rather than adding additional kexts.

My key question is whether I should just keep trying alcid’s or maybe try different SMBIOS - I’m a little unsure the impact of a different SMBIOS would have. And that this is a recommended one, and the MacBook Air one that I was using previously isn’t listed as ‘recommended’. I figure I have a bunch of testing to do, but was hoping someone could help me focus a little.

Thanks!

Finally got it to work - First I had the -wegnoegpu flag. Must have put in at some stage trying to sort things out. So removed this. Then changed my SMBIOS to macbook10,1 (maybe others work as well, but the suggested in the opencore laptop guide don't for me) and now HDMI audio works. Curiously I need to unplug monitor and replug (or pt into sleep briefly) after boot for it to be recognised. But can live with this. Just noting here in case helps anyone else.

Hi I have just finishing install a new version of High Sierra and got all the sound working but I do have sound through the HDMI.

I am running a GA-B85-HD3. I have checked in my clover folder on my EFI mount and I do have the kexts installed already, so do I need to install the Majove Multibeast and do the

How do I get the HDMi audio working?
