[Guide] Lenovo Ideapad S340 Laptop on Catalina

About the trackpad, I have been in touch with an expert and we couldn't make it work. Since I don't like the mouse and really to have a working trackpad I was thinking about replacing it with another one, possibly compatible with Apple or at least easy to fix. But I think that's not so easy to do.
Or the second, and more easy to do, option would be to buy a wireless one, but not the Apple Magic Trackpad. Do you think that the not Apple models would work with our Hackintosh with the gestures and everything?

I don't expect any other model to fit properly in the laptop.

Best option will be use an external one. (While we keep trying to get the internal working. I'm still not ready to give up on it yet).

Any trackpad that is supported on OSX should work with the hackintosh. It is a bummer that the laptop has only 2 USB ports, and the pointing device will permanently consume one of those.

It might be another 3-4 days before I'll be able to test the HDMI audio. There are a couple of good HDMI audio guides on the forum, if you feel inspired in the mean time :)

Yeah I'll take a look at the HDMI audio thing. In the meantime I am trying to figure it out about the trackpad reading and trying a lot. May I ask you (since you have the working trackpad) your apic PIN number (my is 0x50) and if you can tell me on Ioregistry - Io service - GPI0 what is the name written (my is VoodooGPI0CannonLakeLP).

@Patrick545 Mine shows the same as yours. (APIC PIN is x50, etc.)
If found this... GPIO Pinning
Maybe it will help ????

I read that guide before and got totally lost when it talks about GPIO Pinning starting at step 2a. For what's it is worth, my touchpad has the TPAD id and its IOInterruptSpecifiers is 0x50, which means I need to follow second set of steps. Even though I found the entries in the DSDT that 4mit provided, I am unsure if the interrupt needs to be updated for my specific setup.

Yes I found out about that, and I think the point is that.. trying to figure things out because I am new in the mackintosh world. What is your GPI0 name? That's important to choose the right in list in the point 2d of the guide you linked. Mine for example as I said is VoodooGPI0CannonLakeLP. You find it on Ioreg - Io service - GPI0

Ok, good so we have the same. If I remember correctly, your trackpad is working because you went back to Mojave? But with Catalina it didn't work, right? Cause some days ago I made a clean Mojave 14.6 install and it didn't work..

Yes. It's working with Mojave, but not with Catalina. I didn't even try to get it working with Catalina, as it has no benefit for me and Mojave is working great on all my hacks.
