Hey

Just wanted to post this since it was hard to find a solution for this and in the end it was very simple. So after upgrading from Sierra to Mojave, AppleALC.kext (in L/E) would cause a problem where the boot would take anything from 5 to 10 minutes or something. Verbose would reveal the message kextd stall[0], (60s): ´IOHDACodecFunction´ (and possibly also other kextd stall messages such as for x86platformplugin). Hiding the audio device from BIOS or removing AppleALC.kext from L/E solved the "stalling boot", but of course with no audio.

Solution: FixHPET = "Yes" in config.plist ->ACPI->DSDT->Fixes.

I got the clue for the missing ingredient from this post and also this one. But i didn't have to add any other fixes, only the HPET one. Don't know what other things that setting possibly affects though (maybe @Feartech knows?). Otherwise my audio specific settings are as per this guide. AppleALC.kext version 1.3.8. Lilu.kext is 1.3.6.
