[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Beautiful build! Your NZXT Kraken's fans, pumps, and lights can be monitored and controlled using liquidctl from Terminal (see Monitor and Control NZXT Kraken All-in-One Coolers in Post #1).

Oh Thanks, already did this but with liquidctl i control only pump and light, i bought 4 4Pin fans for case from NZXT and connect directly to motherboard with CPU fan did the same.So they work very quite (custom fan curve) !

How about my EFI folder?

And one more question...when I turn on my PC, they turn on for one second fan start spin and after that PC torn off and then system is boot normally, is that OK?

I'm using a SIIG card with a TI chipset, as recommended by Focusrite.

I'm using SYBA Low Profile PCI-Express 1394B/A Firewire Card Model SD-PEX30009

It works absolutely great in this build, and I have 2 FW800 ports and 1 FW400. So better deal than SIIG.

Hello @DuDlik

Front panel USB 3.x ports should work at their full rated speed.
  • What is the make/model of your PC case?
  • If you suspect there's a problem with front panel USB 3 ports, please download and run IORegistryExplorer and select File --> Save As..., then upload the saved file.

My case is - be quiet! Silent Base 601
IORegistry attached. Thank!

The first troubleshooting step is to go back and see if the CPU and Graphics card are both seated properly in the socket and the GPU in the PCIe x16 slot. Also see if the 8 pin power is connected to the GPU. Unlike the 560 the 580 needs 8 pin power to allow it to work. The CPU also needs 8 pin supplemental power, check that cable is connected.

All checked:
PCIEX16
CPU powered
GPU powered with 8 + 6 pin

I have a Crosair RM 750 modular power supply. Just to say that, with previous configuration (560 + i5) the MB doesn't work.

Also perform a CMOS Reset by shorting 2 pins as stated in the Designare user’s manual. Then configure BIOS parameters again.

I did a CMOS reset by touching reset pins with a screwdriver and, alternatively, removing battery with no luck. The most strange thing is that keyboard has no power regardless USB port I'm using. Can be MoBo broken?

LEDs, RAM and fans are working. This is a video with the computer performing an infinite restart loop (this time with Radeon 560):

EDIT: I'm using now the Amazon replacement service to get a new MB. Anyway, in order to know what is happening I preciate any final thought on the isusue. Thanks.

Hi Guys

I have the system built and in order to test all the motherboard components I installed Windows 10 and ran some benchmarks.

I have a Samsung 970 EVO NVMe latest firmware (did not need updating), set up as a content disk in slot M2P just handling large files. I have a standard SSD as the test system drive.

What I am noticing is that I can write to the EVO 970 with transfer times that are comparable with the source disk, i.e. 7200 at 100 mbps SSD 4-500 Mbps, etc.

The issue is getting files off this disk onto any other disk is a crawl sometimes down to pedestrian speeds in the kbps up to 30-50 Mbps max.

Obviously these times vary fluctuate but I am surprised at the 970. Any Ideas welcome as I don’t want to start the Hackintosh until hardware is working smoothly

Thanks in advance

Are you able to enter BIOS Setup? If so, please try flashing the F8 firmware (this can be downloaded from Gigabyte website). But if the boot loop prevents this, then you may be right in getting it replaced.

Please try running BlackMagic Disk Speed Test on the Samsung 970 EVO. What are the read/write speeds shown by this app?

This is in Windows, BTW. I haven't gone macOS yet wanted to iron out the build. Thank for having a look.

EDIT: When I am reading from the NVMe, the system C drive computer slows down to a crawl. Whereas, when I use USB external drive, its transferring faster, and I can use the computer normally while transferring.
