[Guide] Installing macOS Mojave (10.14.2) on Intel NUCi5BEH using Clover UEFI + updating to Mojave (10.14.6) on post#2

Ok, I during last days I tried couple of things without help, but this is important:
Basically it shows this problem is essential to current Apples, not only hackintoshes.
It exhibits as "snowing" on some LCDs or 20 sec delay on other after long sleep.

Only workaround available which is only working in some cases seems to be to buy display port connection (LCD) or pulling cables out and in each time.

Its quite shocking considering Apple is apparently not abble to address this issue for whole last year. It would be funny if hackintosh community was actually able to solve it :)
You saw this part of the post below? I'd explore using the USBc/ Thunderbolt port. You can also try updating the HDMI firmware via an Intel download but I think you need windows to do it. The author of the post believed it was a Samsung monitor issue which is possible (all monitors do not perform the same).

  1. The issue ONLY occurs on the monitor connected to the HDMI port on the mini.
  2. The monitor connected via the USB-C port on the mini does NOT exhibit the snow/static display issue upon awakening from sleep mode.

Wow, I have never upgraded HDMI firmware yet :) Seems really like something to try..
And yes, some USB-C adapters might be next option:

But since I have already audio solved by adapter (native port cracking and noise issue), I will try load windows on separate disk and perform an update.

Please update your profile to show what hardware/ NUC model you are using. It makes it infinitely easier to support you by narrowing down the platform. Sleep problems are typicalyl a function of the USB port limit patch not being correctly implemented. Can you confirm you are using my EFI folder and what the contents of your EFI/ACPI/patched folder is?

Sleep issues can also be caused by devices connected to your device, external audio devices for example or KVM Switches. If that is true try unplugging eventing except your mouse and keyboard and try again.
NUC8i3BEH. Don't have any other USB devices besides keyboard/mouse combo and Wi-Fi dongle (sleep issue remains regardless of whether this is plugged in).

Using your EFI folder as is. Only added AppleALC to fix audio (removed CodecCommander).
/patched is exactly as per your EFI folder. Hackintool recommended changing hibernatemode and proximitywake to 0, which is also done. Issue still persists. Turning off Put hard disks to sleep in Energy Saver settings does obviously fix this, but the efficiency and wear & tear gains of going into sleep would be a huge bonus. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: USB-C hotplug doesn't seem to work either. If I do plug in a device once the system is booted, it'll work perfectly. Once that's removed and reinserted, USB-C seems to stop working until restarted. Could possibly be related to the sleep issue.

Please update your profile. Can’t really do anything but guess until you do. You can try adding these two lines to your config.plist and see if it helps. I don’t understand why USBc isn’t working as a hot plug in device.

Ok, I switched disks, loaded Windows Home and upgraded HDMI firmware,
Then I had minute of desperation since nuci refused to boot Clover.
Fortunatelly loading BIOS defaults helped.

Then sleep and .. here I'm continuing in the morning without need to hard reset!!
If its not some random anomaly, then problem is SOLVED!
Thank you Leesureone!!!

Hey, that's great, glad that worked.

Did you change your serial numbers and UUID? You need unique unused values, please search the site for a guide on how to set up iMessage. For bluetooth you can try turning off the onboard bluetooth controller in the bios so there are no conflicts and get rid of the bluetooth kexts in the UEFI/ Clover/Kexts/Other folder. Otherwise no idea how to support that particular device. I know the ASUS bluetooth dongle works OOB.

NOOB here. I have been reading silently this thread and also Rehab´s one trying to understand all I can before buying the Nuc. I am about to buy it, but before I do it, can someone please help me out with some doubts.

I need the hackintosh for my job (online Spanish teacher) so I need to make sure the audio and video work flawlessly. Does the Catalina version works flawlessly or should I go for Mojave?

I work with a DUAL monitor settings. I would like to know if there is still problems with dual monitors or hot plugging the second would work or what is the workaround about this. If so, does anyone has a adapter to go from USB C (thunderbolt plug) to HDMI or VGA?

Thanks

If these questions are not supposed to be here, please let me know.

Honestly if you want "Flawless" buy a real Macmini. Wireless and Bluetooth work out of the box, as do audio and video obviously, but there is no camera on either. That said most users in this forum have no issues with sound, some do and some find ways to work with the issues to resolve them. Some have had issues with the microphone not working well. USB Video Cameras and Audio solutions exist if you are so inclined.

Dual monitors work and I have a USBc to HDMI cable that works nicely, the caveat is you can only have one plugged in at boot, once booted you can plug in the second. As far as I know that is the work around.
Hope that helps
