hi folks!,
I want to update my old Yosemite.. What can I do with this specs?
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97x UD3H
CPU: i5-4690K

I need to update for job.. at the moment I can buy a graphic card if is necessary.. but I can't do nothing with this version..
I need a guide for this because I'm a little bit rusty with this kind of things..;)

Is there anyone who can help me? Please?

Thanks a lot!

You can use the HD4600 Intel gfx with Mojave or Catalina. Unibeast for Catalina will be released soon if you want to wait a little for that. Follow the standard Mojave guide if you want to get going right now. Of course use UEFI booting.

Thank you very much.. I want to wait for Unibeast.. at the moment I have no idea to change the driver in hd4600.. can you help me please?

You are using HD4600 graphics with Yosemite right now. Your BIOS is already set for that. Just install Catalina from the USB without formatting and then update Clover and the kexts you'll need. Ethernet, audio etc. on the Catalina system drive. When you are in the process of installing Catalina post in Catalina Desktop support. That will be off topic in this thread.

so clear.. thanks a lot!

last question.. so may I update straight with this specs? and.. following this guide ?https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/update-directly-to-macos-catalina.284463/

thanks!
First thing before anything else is to clone your Sierra drive so that is fully backed up. Test that it is bootable

You can do it that way but you'll need to update Clover to a newer version like 5102 first, before you update. I'm not sure what version you're on now but it's probably very old. It won't let you boot Catalina. The Unibeast USB makes it easier because it will put Clover r5102 on the flash drive for you. Then you can always boot from that until you get your new Catalina install configured correctly. It's your choice which way you go about it. I would make the Unibeast USB first so you have that as a rescue drive if the direct update fails.

5102 Should be available in the Clover Builds section any day now.

Here's a detailed guide on how you update to Clover r5xxx from an older version, it is fairly involved due to changes in file structure.

thank you!
