[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

In my case it was not the GPU. I've had the exact same issue.
If you had no issues in safe mode (wich means no external kexts are loaded?) wouldn't this exclude the GPU as it is nativly supported?
Not sure but in my case I suspected the 970 EVO plus, replaced it wit the 970 EVO Pro and at the end the Problem only disappeared as I changed the screen saver (in my case: Arabeske).
Well, it freezes even without a screen saver so I don't know what to say...

What is the make and model of your RX 5700 XT? @heyelly is experiencing the same issue. Wonder what components the two of you have in common...

This is my full parts list

FULL NEW PARTS LIST:
Case: NZXT H710
CPU: i7 9700k
Cooler: h100i
Ram: Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 64GB (4x16gb) 3200mhz
GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 5700XT
Wifi/BT: Fenvi
PSU: Corsair RMx850
NVMe: 2x WD Black 500GB (1 installed)
SSD: 2x WD Blue 500GB (1 installed)
HDD: 2x 6TB IronWolf (1 installed)

some of the hard drives I have not put into the computer yet just attempting to fine tune everything prior. Don’t know what parts myself and @heyelly have in common but that’s my build.

I will note my build doesn’t freeze at all if I’m using it it’s working wonderfully i don’t know what other items I could test to check but works just fine it’s just when it’s been sitting alone with no input that it reboots. As if it was trying to go to sleep or screensaver.
(Energy saver & screensaver set to never)

I am going to attempt to boot and use only my NVMe clone to narrow down if it’s the WD SSD that may be the issue?

my current main drive is a WD Blue 500gb SSD in SATA1
I have a clone sitting in m2p NVMe slot

Is your GPU the nitro+ (the one with RGB leds) or the standard one?

@CaseySJ It’s 100% gpu related. With the 770 no issues at all, I can confirm it. Anyone else with a sapphire gpu here?

You’re mentioning the Sapphire GPU could be causing the reboot issue? Orthe freezing issue you’re getting?
I think our Sapphire GPUs could cause the freeze/reboot just because I had the same issue this summer. Replacing the Sapphire with an old Asus GTX770 solved everything. So yes, it could be our GPU or at least something with drivers.

That’s interesting because the reference model should be the most compatible one.
Agreed. The Sapphire Pulse should be more compatible than the Nitro+.

@WhosMac

Do you have another GPU (non 5700-series)?

I will say, when I had the Gigabyte Reference GPU, I used all the same files and had no issues with reboots. So maybe it could be the Sapphire GPU.
