[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

CaseySJ or really anyone who might know.

I'm curious about the "Unlocking the MSR 0xE2 Register in BIOS F8" that was posted a little while back. What is the purpose of unlocking this register? How does this pertain to FwRuntimeServices.efi and OcQuirks-4.efi?

When I tried to use the FwRuntimeServices.efi and OcQuirks-4.efi, my system simply Locked up at the initial boot sequence. I've not gone back and tried to troubleshoot this until today. I'm starting with educating myself first to some the reports of successfully using FwRuntimeServices.efi and OcQuirks-4.efi.

Thanks for any feedback.... happy holiday and and a wonderful new year.
Unlocking the MSR 0xE2 register enables native CPU power management. FwRuntimeServices and OcQuirks, however, are used to manage memory during preboot stage, and are unrelated MSR 0xE2. It's curious why your system doesn't boot with them... Are you using OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000?

I'm not, I have my iGPU disabled and am using AptioMemoryFix.efi, SMBIOS iMAC19,1.

Can I use my MacBook to download macOS Mojave or do I need a Mac?

Thanks for your answer @CaseySJ ! I firstly tried to put my Samsung 970 EVO Plus in an external M.2 case to upgrade the firmware with a PC and Magician, but the SSD in not visible and I can't do nothing with. It's the same thing plugged in my Macbook Pro, nothing appears. There is the disk in PC but I can't do anything with it, even if I try tor erase it with "PC Utility". The only time I can do anything with the SSD it's when it's internal and erasable with the USB boot of my hackintosh.
And I already read the tuto that you linked, but don't understand where to find "the Samsung Firmware Utility ISO file in Diskimage ISO"... I have to download it ?

It depends on how old your MacBook is whether Apple will allow the download. Check the following specs.

Mojave is compatible with the following Macintosh computers running OS X Mountain Lion or later:
I already downloaded macOS Mojave and created a bootable USB from this guide.
Can I use this to install macOS Mojave to hackintosh.

Yes, that is obviously what you can do.

I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to. You just need an officially downloaded version and it sounds like you have that now.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day kept me fully occupied with family matters, but I'm back... Is this still happening? I still don't know why it was so difficult to install macOS -- you exchanged/replaced nearly all components. I could examine your CLOVER folder, but I'm not sure how much that would reveal. But let's start there anyway. Please compress and upload your CLOVER folder (remove serial numbers from SMBIOS).

To be honest at this point I feel it may not have been hardware related maybe something within the config file/ BIOS settings that was the issue. Although I am unsure as to why following the guide to the T still gives me the same CPU halt issue. The EFI I attached is one that uses a different config than the one in the mini guide and uses different BIOS settings than post #1. It is the config you looked into the other day.

Answer to your previous question is Yes, it is still occurring if I leave the computer on but don't move the mouse or put any input thru after about 10 or so mins it reboots back to clover menu. If I am actively using the computer and messing with stuff or working on items it stays on no issue.

I was considering making a 3rd clone of my drive and using it to try out OpenCore setup see if that solves some of the issues I believe in a previous post you mentioned another user using OpenCore reports it was a fix for a similar issue.
