X299 - Open Core support

Bro i need your expertise on this please, before a week or so my pc stopped booting into anything else except windows. Tried resetting the bios, downgraded the bios version, cmos clear, ... you name it. It won't boot into clover at all.

Same hardware, same settings i used to operate on.

Here is what exactly happened:

Have 3 SSD drives that contains Mac OS
Main drive is the daily operating system (Mojave 10.14.6)
2nd Clone
3rd is the testing drive which i recently installed on it Catalina.

After the install everything worked fine on the same EFI folder and started to insatall my main apps to test the compatibility of those i use daily. Had to restart and upon that it refused to boot into clover since that day.

My Mobo : Asus X299 Prime deluxe Bios V.1705 currently (tried 1503, 1903)

I also disconnected the rest of the SSD's and kept only the hackintosh drive and still nothing.

Upon booting it shows a flashing fast message which i tried to capture but couldn't and then ignore the drive and tries to find windows instead.

Any suggestions or tips.

Trouble shooting for this problem can be several issues. One often missed is a bad memory stick. If your DDR4 has LEDs, see if all are lit and have the same color. If not, remove the bad one and its mate. (Also, make certain that they're all properly seated.)

Other things to consider are BIOS settings (it sounds like you already re-flashed the BIOS (I'm using 1902 with my PD1). Then make certain that some items like CSM and "Above 4G Decoding" are how you want them. Sometimes, their settings don't stick and that can cause a boot error. Occasionally, the EFI folder on your boot drive can become corrupted; a simple work around is to boot from a back up drive.

Other odd things are PCIe problems, so when trouble shooting, remove all un-necessary PCIe devices.

From your description, I'd suspect bad RAM or corrupted BIOS (or both).

Btw, all the logs before the picker appears are easily removed. PlatformInfo does not need All the extra (repeated) info/data in: Datahub; PlatfornNVRAM, SMBIOS. Generic covers all the SN UUID you need. See screenshot below.
Regarding the Logo & screen resolution, that sanitiseClearScreen did not do anything for me. I also tried multiple values on "UI" Best I could find was "01". SSDTs are a bit tricky to learn, but it is necessary. I started there but lots of infos are on the net.
.
Good day!
Hello, I am looking for this guide but it is impossible. I tried even on google and all related websites but it didn't work. any ideas??

Hi guys,

I am thinking about building a new Hackintosh. Til now I've done an old Z270 build, a Gigabyte Z390 Designare build, and a X570 Ryzentosh build already. Yet each of them has some kinda flaw, like non-native NVRAM on Z390, sleep/wake on X570 and Z270 simply being a bit too old .

Now I have my eyes on a new X299 build but I do have a couple of questions that I couldn't find answers for anywhere. I am planning to use OpenCore just so you know.
  1. Do the X299 boards support native NVRAM? Specifically, I'm looking at either Asus Strix X299-E Gaming II, or Asus Prime X299-Deluxe II, or the Gigabyte X299 Designare one.
  2. If I get the latest 10th gen Intel X processors, will it be a problem? Or do I have to go get the 9th gen ones? I'm thinking about getting the i9-10920X.
Thanks in advance! :D

Hi everyone. Just started yesterday building my own X299 Mac and almost everything seems very stable and working. Thank you everyone for that. Overall the system is very stable.

Bluetooth, USB 3 controllers and 10Gb ports are not working. 10Gb controllers I haven't even started troubleshooting - I understand that I need to modify them through Linux? USB controller I have no idea about - the other ones work. And bluetooth should be native, but can't wrap my head around that. Right now graphics card is also reported as IV, but works fine.

I'm still in process of getting to know the components of OC. Should I start looking into MaciASL (hate apps that need compiling - especially ones that require external binaries)?

Or is there easier ways here?

Like what canyon dust said, you'll have to map your own USB using Hackintool. For Bluetooth, what card are you using? If you're using a PCIe WiFi/Bluetooth card, make sure the Bluetooth connector is correctly connected to a USB 2.0 header on the motherboard. One way to check is to go to About This Mac -> USB to see if Bluetooth shows up there.

Hello all, whats the latest status on Catalina/Opencore with Sage 10G boartd? Anything not working so well where I might be better on a Clover setup? Will be using a 10980XE arriving in a couple days, Radeon VII, Gigabyte Titan Ridge KGP build more or less. Thank you!

If USB3 isn’t working, you likely need to (temporarily) enable the XHCIportlimit quirk in OC and then correctly configure a usbports.kext from hackintool. My guess is your 15 ports are currently being populated with all USB2 addresses.

Actually, after quite a bit of troubleshooting, I figured out that macOS is not properly loading my XHCI controller. I've yet to find round abouts on this problem. I tried to reset BIOS to 0301/0501 and to the latest 2002 and back to kgps original 0905 w/boot screen. And at every point with CMOS reset.

Only USB 3.1 ports work. USB 3.0 ports don't load at all. Ports work in bios so clearly problem is in my aml files.

Similar problem where the solution didn't resolve here.

Hey guys,
I have been working recently on getting my X299 hackintosh running with opencore,
EVGA X299 Micro 2, i9 7900x, 5700XT
So far, everything functions really well, after following the vanilla guide, with some of the Asus x299 tweaks plus my own.
However I am having issues trying to disable NullCpuPowerManagement.

With the kext disabled, I get a delay in power to my USB mouse (through Dell display USB hub) of about 30 seconds after login.

I figure it is some weird side-effect of the kext, or some xhci patching issue, since I get full native cpu power management and sleep.

Is this a known issue? Please see my full config in gh below

USB 3.1 is likely on an ASMedia chip so that makes sense. I’m still willing to bet your USB isn’t properly setup to exclude USB 2.0 addresses that you’re not using and they’re populating your 15 port limit.

have you tried enabling the OC Quirk ‘XhciPortLimit’ (set it to true/yes)?
