Just updated to 10.15.2 on my Desktop (MonkeyMac Pro) and Laptop (MonkeyBook Pro) hacks.
Prior to installing I updated Clover to release 5100 and made full backups via Carbon Copy Cloner (as always).
Both systems where already running the latest 3rd party kexts such as Lilu, WEG, AppleALC .. etc.

Update took around 20 mins on each machine requiring just two reboots this time.
Both updates installed smoothy with no complications.

This update mainly addresses a few bugs in Apple Apps (Music, Photos, Mail .. etc) and adds some new features to the News and Stocks Apps which for most of us is pretty useless.

Cheers
Jay

I just updated to 10.15.2 all went smooth

However, I noticed the OS is much more fluid and snappy.

That made me take a look at my idle cpu frequency, and it seems that Apple has made the OS ustilze more cpus cycles in idle than usual. I normally idle at around 1.2 ghz, but now the cpu is hovering between 1.6 ghz and 1.8 ghz

Definitely not good for laptop battery runtimes.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Did you have to add any kexts or config.plist hacks to run the Sapphire RT 5700 XT?

TIA

You don't need any kexts. It will work OOB if you are using 10.15.1 or newer.

@liteon6x,

Try running Piker Alpha's Frequency Vectors script which will patch MacOS to use lower CPU Clocks :-

Download and run the script as per the instructions on the Git Repo.
Select the number matching the SMBIOS your using (should be in BOLD text)
Answer N to do you want to open the file and Y to reboot.

Installing a MacOS update can sometimes reset it back to the default, so just run it again.

Cheers
Jay
