Any suggestions on what could be causing the endless “code signing” ? This is the same file that I’ve been able to boot before now it won’t allow me in with the same steps so now I can’t even make it to welcome GUI. I reseated all ram reset CMOS and adjusted back to BIOS and presets set correct date and time on system. I am just getting an endless “CODE SIGNING”

also ran first aid on SSD to make sure no permissions issues or anything prior to installing.
Yikes, the saga continues. I sympathize with the frustration this whole process is causing.

I think it’s best to abandon a sinking ship and start completely anew. This also means re-formatting and re-creating the USB install disk.

This also means removing the RX 5700 and installing with the iGPU.

If the new USB disk fails to fully launch the Catalina installer, check on Inject Intel in the Graphics section of Clover Configurator.

Can you please post a screenshot of System Preferences —> Energy Saver. This can be done by pressing CMD-Shift-5 and moving mouse on the window to be captured.

Luckily im a market trainer for a living so i deal with new hires week in and week out so if nothing else ive learned patience in the face of never ending frustration lmfao.

Can I ask what you recommend on starting a new.
I thought maybe reseating all RAM, pulling 5700XT, pulling NVMe, and running first aid before processing was a good move, what would you say is my best course of action. I would give you evertyhing im tried but the list would be endless ive tried multiple EFI folders, different drives, ive created USB after USB installer, just trying to figure out what the best course of action is I wish i knew what changed between my working build and where i have found myself today where nothing is working as it should.

You suggest erasing reformatting and recreating USB installer with 10.15.1 wipe old drives clean and when i build usb installer make sure the config in miniguide has "inject Intel" selected? Cause where i was getting caught up before was the installer GUI failing to launch and giving me a corrupt apple logo and progress bar

Please post a screenshot of HWmonitorSMC2 with the chevrons expanded. I’ll check this on my end later this evening or tomorrow morning.

Here are the screen shots. Everything after Graphics is the same, I think. It doesn't show because I'm (sadly still) using a (pathetically low resolution) TV as my primary monitor.

It's not urgent or all that important, really... it's just annoying me since everything else works!

Hi @CaseySJ, here's the screenshot. When the computer sleeps the lights and fans go off for a second, then start up again, then off again. It continues like that for several cycles (not sure how long or if it's indefinite). When I press a keyboard key to wake it it comes back to life, but then everything is very slow to respond. Mouse movement is fine, but everything else is delayed by a few seconds (opening or closing windows etc.) I checked activity monitor while this was happening and it was 92% idle. Then if I shut it down it hung once, and the second time it seemed to ignore the command, forcing me to hard-reboot.

Thanks again for looking into this. When this is all over I'd love to buy you a beer!

@CaseySJ – first off thanks for the exhaustive guide and your patience helping everyone out. Even if I don't get a working hackintosh out of this, learning about the process has been super interesting.

I'm having a little bit of trouble with the Catalina mini guide. I created a new boot USB with your specs exactly but am getting the black screen problem when trying to boot without my GPU (after gIO ScreenLockState 3). I gave it a few minutes after the black screen and the only thing that happens is the mobo seems to shut off but the RAM rgb lights stay on (not sure why).

In any case, I did try again after I checked the "Inject Intel" box in graphics but it's still a no go. Any ideas? The only thing I didn't add is the fakeID 0x12345678 – not sure if that would make a difference in this scenario. I'd try it out but after I plugged in my GPU again, Windows completely stopped booting from my other hdd. Thankfully I was able to fix, but I figure I'm pushing my luck trying to get this done without help...

In addition to Inject Intel, please add the fake ID in Devices (IntelGFX = 0x12345678) and set ig-platform-id to 0x3E9B0007 from the pop-up menu in the Graphics section of Clover Configurator and try again.

If it still fails, add the boot argument -wegoff and try again.

We should uncheck the last two items in Energy Saver. I’ll look at your IOReg file in the morning. I suspect the NZXT devices connected to F_USB header are causing this.

I looked at your config and clover folder. There are multiple things that are missing. Your ACPI -> patched folder was completely empty. @CaseySJ has provided all the USB port matching and these types of things are needed if you're using the Designare board.
Thank you for the reply, but im a little confused with this. I've read through and walked through the directions on the first post about 4 times (or more) now, and I dont see anything about dropping files into the ACPI->patched folder. Where am I missing this step?

edit: I see where he is adding to that acpi folder but that is all in POST installation... i can't get the installer to start. Do these files need to be there PRE installation as well (if so, it's not mentioned in the guide).
