I can confirm that power drain is significant when compared to windows. May have something to do with NVMe power management. Also, this model has a 30 Wh 2 cell battery, which is quite small. I'm thinking of upgrading it to a 3 cell 52.5 Wh in the future.
Yeah, I was thinking about that too. But It's quite hard to get one of them here. Perhaps it will be easier for me to change the laptop a few months from now.
I am thinking about buying 16gb ram and a better battery, if I manage to keep this machine.
Nway, if you do upgrade, please let us know. I am curious about how much better it will get.
Also, thank you for your guide. D:

You probably can improve the battery life with CPUFriend + CPUFriendFriend.kext

I saw you are using a SSDT-EC, this is highly not recommended to do on Laptops, as it could disable your real EC and harm your machine
I had put the SSDT-EC for installation of Catalina and forgot remove it after the installation process. Will check on CPUFriend.

Can anyone help me with the dsdt patching I have the same laptop with 240GB ssd and no m.2, I've tried the provided dsdt but couldn't boot

I have also included a small guide in the folder to make things a bit easier.

Thank you for fast reply, will try it out now and is there any fix for putting laptop to sleep by closing lid

See here for CPUFriendFriend
Have you managed to get this working? I've tried various ways with the kext and also ssdt.aml but it never seems to work. Minimum frequency is stuck at 1.3 Ghz even though I set it to 800 Mhz. IOReg also doesn't reflect any changes, which leads me to believe that it's not getting injected for some reason.

Hm it works for me, my CPU goes all the way down to 800Mhz. Do you still have any other CPU related clover patches?

I don't think so, but you can check my config file. The only way I managed to get power management is to replace the IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext, but I don't see this as a permanent solution as I'll need to do it after every update. No idea why CPUFriend isn't working for me. :(
