Hey Guys,

about a year ago i built my first hackintosh with mac os sierra. I still use it because it is the last version my adobe creative suite 5.5. works with. Since there is a lot of software which need ad least high sierra i wonder how i can install a second version of mac os where i can chose which one to use while booting. I only found solutions for a windows / mac dual boot ...
thank you!

I suppose your hard disk has only one partition with MacOS Sierra installed?

You can use the Disk Utility in Sierra to "add" a partition (what this actually does is to resize the original partition to a smaller size and create a new partition in the released space) to your disk. You can then install MacOS High Sierra onto the empty partition. You may need to update Clover to allow MacOS High Sierra to boot.

Macs have always supported multi-booting of multiple MacOS on the same disk or on multiple disks. On hackintoshes Clover can do the same.

Isn't there going to be some issue or restriction with the newer APFS disk format in High Sierra?

I would just maybe use 2 different drives, boot SSD's are cheap.

Don't try to access APFS partitions or drives under MacOS Sierra. APFS support in Sierra is preliminary and incomplete. Otherwise there should be no restrictions.

You can also use a separate drive to install High Sierra if you like.
