Hi, I have a problem when I update the clover in my Catalina.
I've updated the clover to 5096 before, and updated my mojave to catalina. Everything is good and no problem. I have updated to supplement version now 19A602.
I just got a notice that clover 5097 is released and it suggested me to update. So I download it from the Github.
When I try to install clover 5097, it said the installer is not compatible with this MacOS, and when I continue, it finally failed. I can still reboot from clover, but the clover control panel disappeared from the system preference. I also tried to install the clover 5096 again, the same error.

I guess reason is about the new system file protection in Catalina, but I don't know how to solve it and update my clover in future.
Anyone can help me?

I believe it is the new SIP system protection. Ignore the warning and say install anyway and Clover will update to 5097. I have updated to this version and works for my hackintosh.
Catalina puts system files into a "read only" state so they cannot be changed by anything nasty. Clover still writes to the EFI partition as it should..

If you want to make sure just open config configurator and check latest version is 5097.

I just restarted my PC, and get paused in the clover screen, I checked the version is still 5096, not 5097 which means no update in the EFI partition.

And I even tried the command "sudo mount -uw /" and re-install, nothing changed...

you may take a look the Clover Installer log

EFI/Clover_Install_Log.txt
It didn't change anything. It kept as my last 5096 install in Oct 16.
Nothing write in the EFI drive and the log file.

The problem was solved with latest commit yesterday, it's not yet made it in the release build yet. There are daily builds provided by one of its forked repo, I don't want to post the link here, but you can look it up.

For legacy clover install:
Delete the files below if they are in /usr/standalone/i386/x64/ or /usr/standalone/i386/ before install.

boot0af
boot0ss
boot1f32
boot1f32alt
boot1h
boot1h2
boot1x
boot1xalt

Download Clover configurator and mount EFI and then open folder button to make sure you can access the EFF and then Clover can. Also if more than one EFI is listed it is possible the wrong efi partition was updated.

Also make sure to copy/backup the EFI folder before updating to 5097. Just copy and paste it to the desktop using Finder.

That way if something goes wrong with the clover update you can use your bootable usb with a working EFI and fix things as they were. Hope that helps. I updated a couple of times and all went ok.

Make sure to download the clover bootloader from here https://github.com/CloverHackyColor/CloverBootloader/releases which moved from soundforge.

Or direct link to 5096 https://github.com/CloverHackyColor/CloverBootloader/releases/tag/5096

Thanks for your detail suggestion. But I am sorry to say that didn't help.
I mounted EFI drive, and installation still failed. The clover is downloaded from Github as well.
But now, problem solved. 5098 released. It still says that is is not compatible with Catalina, but finally I can make it done.

And also thanks for the information from "AppleByte".

Good to hear 5098 installed for you. Weird 5097 would not install for you.

Yeah I'm getting the same error with 5098. I'm still on 4961, which seems to be working fine, so I'm not sure if I should worry about it for now.
