[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Is it possible to install a wi-fi card in the slot for m.2 for ssd?
Yes, see this post here. You will also have to create a custom USB SSDT to enable the internal headers. You can also use Hackintool to create a custom usb kext that will do the same thing. Post 496

The link to the adapter doesn't work anymore but eBay still has them and other vendors do as well.

Thank you everyone for the good assistance in any kind of issues here.
I had a Xiomi in the past and never major issues with the hackintosh. Nevertheless my current purchase a NUC7i3BHE is not installing as expected.

spottsy, you are running also a nuc7? Sometime it reads to me like you have both models. Your guide works perfect to make my usb installer. But I am struggling to find the correct EFI or the correct settings and kext for the EFI. Could you share some details how you managed the install of Catalina?

Since here is more details on the NUC8 and I am running the NUC7, some hints would be great.
Maybe the issue is that I did an update of the bios from version 68 to 80, but I would need to check with a file that I am sure should run.

Thanks
Ben

I am running a NUC8 sorry so cannot help with NUC7 EFI folder. I notice that Leesureone has posted a user that got things working so hope you find something to make it work for you. I need to make it clear that my POST relies on Leesureone's POST 901 and that means the EFI folder is for NUC8 only. If someone has a working NUC7 EFI folder hopefully they can zip it and attach to this forum for you.

I'm actually in the exact same spot!

Previously I had win10 installed on the lightning fast m.2 samsung 970 evo plus but for the hackintosh experiment (which now is not an experiment anymore, but my permanent os) I ordered a sata samsung 960 where I now have macos installed on with a 10$ BT4.0 dongle so I can use my apple magic keyboard/mouse and currently the Broadcom BT/Wifi chipset is being shipped because I wanted to have continuity/handover/airdrop working.

But it still bothers me a lot I cannot use the awesome samsung 970 evo plus (which now sits unused on my desk!!) and being forced to downgrade to sata ssd speeds again..

It might have been unclear in my post but there is a cheap option I think would work. When your Broadcom BT/Wifi chipset M.2. arrives buy a USB 3.0 to M.2 NVMe adapter. That way your wifi bluetooth will work and USB 3.0 speed is fine for that.

The you have your INTERNAL M.2. free for either Windows 10 or your MAC OS whatever you use the most hard drive intensive software on ie video editing etc.

There are links on that working. USB 3.0 is overkill speed wise for WiFi and Bluetooth. Let us know how it goes.

Just make sure that you choose the RIGHT M.2 interface in your adapter there are a few but all options are catered for on ebay and cheap.

Not only were I banned by ip, but also all the posts were put on permoderation. It seems that only some methods approved by the forum management can be offered here. Welcome to the communist party.

I'm on my phone and so cannot open your attachment. Did you use @Sevift clover upload in the post above yours?

He has his own configuration
Sure but no usb is probably solved using yours or am I missing something. Its either a kext or ssdt. I think you both have the same model, it's just the CPU that is different. The motherboard is the same I belive.

Hello,
I've update from Mojave to Catalina my Nuc8i5BEH using the new EFI folder from page 91, everything works smoothly but the sleep. When I put it in sleep, it sleeps, then wakes up and after about 15-20 seconds it reboots :(
Any idea how to fix it?

edit:
I'm using usb-c to DisplayPort cable for my monitor and a usb3 kvm for mouse & keyboard.

Thank you all!
