@CaseySJ: I have the case like you, Phanteks Evol X. Do you manage to make second front USB 3.0 work? The one in the middle. Mine still doesn't work since day 1.

Hello, everyone.
I have a problem since the 1st day I've built my hackintosh. How do I fix the unknown processor?

I tried 1st method, How to customize the “About This Mac” section of a Mac, however I stucked at no.8 step of Changing the Processor Name. I cannot type Unknown in type section of CPU in clover. I also tried 2nd method, set my current CPU type as 0x0910 in clover, rebooted. Both methods do not work ....

dont use macmini smbios may help you, imac 19,1 is OK

Problem Solved by myself. I did the 1st method again just modified the copied version of AppleSystemInfo.strings then replace the old one, I didn't touch any of the config.plist. boom that's it

My current CPU is known as [ 3.6GHz Ferrari Superfast 812 ], lol

@neonline
My Mojave is 10.14.4
Setting smbios iMac19,1 is only for Mojave 10.14.5 and newer.
Before I succeeded building my hackintosh, I'd already tried to set the smbios as iMac 19.1 with 10.14.4. Happily rebooted it~ Guess what!? the shittiest thing happened to me. Instead of logging into macOS, it went to the black screen and shown [The current macOS does not support the system].

I had to reformat and reinstalled everything I did with tears in my eyes.... because I didn't pay closed attention and follow CaseySJ's guideline to set my smbios macmini correctly with 10.14.4.

I'm not going to change it to iMac 19.1 for 100000000% sure, I will leave it as it is. No more black screen for me, dude.

Hey guys, I just finished building my new DAW (digital audio workstation). I plan to run Logic Pro and possibly ProTools later. I'm using a Z390 Designare, i9-9900k, RX 590.
I read the advice for audio and video users to switch to iMac Pro SMBIOS, and disable IGPU, but it seems to be focused more on the video users side/FCP. . Since I'm mainly running for audio, should I stick to iMac19:1 and keep the IGPU enabled? Or should I switch to iMac Pro1:1 and disable the IGPU? Which would (in your experience/opinion) yield better performance?
Other than audio work, I may use the system for watching movies here and there, and doing some other general work.

Any pros/cons to doing one over the other? I already read that sidecar with iPad won't work on T2 models (E.G iMac Pro), but that's not really important to me at the moment.

Any advice appreciated :)

I haven't started the install yet, just finished the hardware build, but want to do my research before I get down to business...

PS. If anyone has a completed/working config.plist that they wouldn't mind sharing (except the SMBIOS section of course), I'd appreciate it. I just need something that will allow me to boot the installer, as I don't have access to any of my other hacks at the moment, so can't create the config as per the guide... THX!

Be careful how you set the smbios, if your Mojave version (installer) is 10.14.4 and older, please DO NOT set the smbios as iMac19.1, just used macmini, leave it as it is.
If your Mojave installer is 10.14.5 or newer then you can set the smbios as iMac19.1.

I've been through this before I know how it feel when the system went wrong when I set the wrong smbios info, so please READ and FOLLOW thoroughly the POST INSTALLATION of CaseySJ's guideline.

Thanks to CaseySJ's priceless guideline and his contribution to the community. Now I run Logic Pro and Studio One on my hackintosh smoothly~ Before you start your music production. Please, setup your hackintosh correctly.

Thanks. I failed to mention that my installer is the latest Mojave 10.14.6, with the latest security patches from last month. I'm also running a rather recent Clover version (think it's 5070, but not 100% sure).
As soon as I get the hardware working properly and such I'll download and run a fresh install of Catalina, right now I'm just collecting info :) THX!

That's a great news that your installer is newer than mine.

Cataline does NOT support 32 bit software and plugin anymore. If you plan to use any 32 bit plugin(VST or AU) in the future, forget about it. it won't work in Catalina

I use Luna Display device to setup my iPad as the 2nd monitor so I don't need to upgrade to Catalina for sidecar. Luna Display runs super low latency (almost smoothly) and it also allows me to change the resolution of iPad which sidecar can't do.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been running 64bit for a while, so should be OK on that front. Which SMBIOS are you using, iMac19 or iMac Pro?

Catalina 10.5(security update) is out, try to update it today,

This time just restart , didnt update it at all.

Anyone else have this problem too?
