AMD Radeon Navi GPU

After checking inside my Hack's case, I've decided I'll get the Sapphire Pulse RX5700 XT because an installed fan assembly prevents a card as long as the Nitro+ would be. Now, another noob question about the power connectors: currently I'm using just one 6+2 connector to my 1080 card, but that same cable has a 6-pin branching off of it from the plug that connects to the 1080. Since the Pulse needs both an 8-pin and a 6-pin, can I simply use that 6-pin (see attached pic) that's coming out of the 8-pin plug, or will I have to install an entirely new cable from the PSU using 6-pins connectors on both ends?

You can, but it is preferable to pull a new cable from another power rail. It is better to balance the power draw from your power supply. Picture you have two buckets of water. Is it easier to hold them both with one arm or one with each arm?
Over time it may burn out the single rail you are pulling power from.

To start with it should be fine but over time you should get another cable and plug into another connection. Google is your friend look into PC PSU balancing.

Thanks for the great (and easy to understand) response!

Ok, odd. I booted the OSX install for the first time in a week or so. Without any modifications, it came up fine in 2880x1700. Cue the twilight zone music.... The last time this booted I had pointer trails and 1080p... Literally nothing changed on the OSX side between those boots.

I then removed WhateverGreen (because, group consensus seems to think that's needed) while it was installing the 10.15 Update. A couple of reboots later... Same result.

Type: GPU, VRAM: 18 MB, Vendor: AMD (0x1002), Device ID: 0x731f, Revision ID: 0x00c1, Resolution: 2880x1700.

XFX Radeon 5700 XT

The second display is not recognized, nor is the Vive Cosmos (not that I expected it to be).

This is without any Beta participation whatsoever. This seems almost usable and I'm shocked.

Edit: spoke too soon. Opera still not rendering web pages correctly. Safari works (as it did even with pointer trails). Trying the public beta now and waiting on 4.5 GB to download...

You can keep WEG and use boot argument. agdpmod=pikera

Installed the public beta, now running at 3840x2160 with a fully recognized Radeon RX 5700 XT!

Oddly, however, it picked the other display to use as primary (vs. what Windows 7 believes is primary), and doesn't see the second display at all. But it is functional at this point.

So I removed WEG and got it working but was having micro-lag when moving the mouse only one of my DP ports was recognized and HEVC wasn't working with VideoProc so I reinstalled WEG with the agdpm=pikera boot argument and now everything is perfect no micro lag HEVC is working and all ports are recognized.

Re-installed WEG and added the boot arg via Clover Configurator (it added agdpmod=pikera instead) and still no second display.

Edit: Changed agdpmod to agdp and no change after reboot. I assume they are equivalent. No second display.

YES!!! System booted with my brand new Gigabyte 5700 XT!

And this is by far the weirdest update which I ever did on a Hackintosh (maybe because it's my very first beta update, or maybe I had to disable the Internal Graphics?)
I spent almost all the update process with black screen, but the system was doing his update stuff anyway, so I let it continue.
Then I realized I had to turn off Internal Graphics, then I could boot into MacOS 10.15.1 (19B77a) with my "old" RX 590.

I removed from clover config all stuff concerning iGPU, left WEG on his kexts/Other folder and added agdpmod=pikera as suggested here.

I will update with benchmarks soon!
