[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Looks like on 10.15.1 beta 2 there’s actually new Kexts https://egpu.io/forums/which-gear-s...m-for-egpu-radeon-rx-5700-rx-5700-xt/paged/6/

If someone got the 5700 and can test...
Too bad @mbapple returned it so soon! :)

Haha sorry! Looks like it’s confirmed now on the eGPU.io website, there’s support for Navi!!

@Stork,

Just realized I posted my Asus X99 Deluxe II EFI folders from both (a) USB Install Disk and (b) Mojave SSD a little while ago here:

And screenshots of BIOS settings are located here:
Thank you. I'll provide feedback to you when I get back to the location of MyHero and go thru your posts. One of problems I have is I have real low resolution (1024x750?) after updating the TB settings in the BIOS and activation all the drivers in Windows. If you discuss that in those posts, great! If not, I'll be asking about it.

BTW, both links are to the same post. I didn't know if you realized that.

Yes indeed!

AMD RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT GPUs will be supported in official release of Catalina 10.15.1.

Oops! Just fixed the first link.

Although I haven't tried this myself, you could quickly try this:
  • At the Clover Boot Menu, select Options.
  • Then edit Boot Argumentsby adding this to the end:
    • -no_compat_check
I am not at my Hackintosh right now, but I do believe there is a way to modify SMBIOS from Clover Options. Look at all the choices there and see if you can figure it out...

-no_compat_check worked!!!! I'm back on my Hackintosh now :) I'll change the SMBios back and clone and then update to Catalina then change the SMBios again.

Thank you so much again!!!!!

@CaseySJ Can I edit SSDT-UIAC-DESIGNARE-Z390-V7A.aml with TextEdit to disable Port HS11 and enable Port HS13 without customizing another SSDT-UIAC.aml file by clover?

I am going to give a last try for the Luna Display device on the rear bottom TB3/Type-C port since plugged into front panel Type-C port doesn't allow the device to connect to my iPad. If it's not succeed then I will sell my luna display device on the 2nd market...

That file can only be edited with MaciASL. I've made the changes for you:
  • Try SSDT-UIAC-DESIGNARE-Z390-V7B.aml first.
  • Be sure to remove any previous SSDT-UIAC...
  • If this does not work, remove it and try SSDT-UIAC-DESIGNARE-Z390-V7C.aml
  • If one of these files do work, please let me know which one that is.

Yes, the "diskutil list" command gives me the EFI partitions, the Hack starts and works normally as well. But I can no longer access the EFI partitions and I really don't know how it happened.
So, if nothing else is possible, can I delete the EFI partition with the terminal and copy and paste the EFI folder I could find? Is installing Windows to delete the partition and copy a new EFI folder on it also a solution?
I am looking for solutions that would allow me to repair the EFI partition without having to reinstall everything.
do you have a USB boot drive that contains your working EFI folder?

Yes you're right!! Things are always changing...
today it still returns the same text file. exceedingly strange!! wonder if the source forge page for clover was hacked?
