[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

I meant I used the migration assistant.
First I set up a MacOS Catalina in my ESXi, then I migrated from Mojave.Hackintosh to Catalina.ESXi and then to Catalina.Hackintosh.

So i did a clean install and now so far so good.
I figured that's what you meant but had to ask, there isn't a lot of support for using VM Ware. Bet that was it though and you are good now.

Ok I'm still screwed with my network speed (ethernet gigabit).

I've been doing some iperf3 testing using my Synology NAS and NUC8 Catelina (both connected through ethernet in my home network)

Result when nas is server and nuc8 is client (= very good):
[ 5] 0.00-1.00 sec 109 MBytes 913 Mbits/sec [ 5] 1.00-2.00 sec 111 MBytes 934 Mbits/sec [ 5] 2.00-3.00 sec 111 MBytes 934 Mbits/sec [ 5] 3.00-4.00 sec 111 MBytes 935 Mbits/sec [ 5] 4.00-5.00 sec 111 MBytes 934 Mbits/sec [ 5] 5.00-6.00 sec 111 MBytes 934 Mbits/sec [ 5] 6.00-7.00 sec 111 MBytes 935 Mbits/sec [ 5] 7.00-8.00 sec 111 MBytes 934 Mbits/sec [ 5] 8.00-9.00 sec 111 MBytes 934 Mbits/sec [ 5] 9.00-10.00 sec 111 MBytes 934 Mbits/sec

Result when nas is client and nuc8 is server (= very bad):
[ 4] 0.00-1.00 sec 141 KBytes 1.16 Mbits/sec 3 1.41 KBytes [ 4] 1.00-2.00 sec 0.00 Bytes 0.00 bits/sec 2 4.24 KBytes [ 4] 2.00-3.00 sec 0.00 Bytes 0.00 bits/sec 15 4.24 KBytes [ 4] 3.00-4.00 sec 0.00 Bytes 0.00 bits/sec 3 1.41 KBytes [ 4] 4.00-5.00 sec 0.00 Bytes 0.00 bits/sec 3 2.83 KBytes [ 4] 5.00-6.00 sec 0.00 Bytes 0.00 bits/sec 2 5.66 KBytes [ 4] 6.00-7.00 sec 0.00 Bytes 0.00 bits/sec 3 2.83 KBytes [ 4] 7.00-8.00 sec 0.00 Bytes 0.00 bits/sec 2 4.24 KBytes [ 4] 8.00-9.00 sec 0.00 Bytes 0.00 bits/sec 1 1.41 KBytes [ 4] 9.00-10.00 sec 0.00 Bytes 0.00 bits/sec 0 1.41 KBytes [ 4] 10.00-11.00 sec 0.00 Bytes 0.00 bits/sec 0 1.41 KBytes

So this is bad! (basically useless, browsing is super slow...).

I already disabled the bios setting and tried to set the ethernet connection to manual but that didn't help... :( Please help

Could it be your router settings? Are you running any kind of software firewall? I'm guessing here, not much else I can do. Hopefully someone else has better answers for you.

You have to try and provide more information otherwise its impossible to help. Start with the basics.
Did you follow the recommended bios settings described in the first post?
Did you create the boot disk using Unibeast for UEFI booting?
Did you replace the EFI folder with one posted in this forum?
Are you trying to load Mojave or Catalina?
What brand hardware are you using for HDD/ SSD?
Memory same question? Brand and Size
When you say restart/shutdown that can mean a lot of different things, describe the behavior in detail.

Seems that I fixed this right now almost one week away :D. Else I do first test at Mojave because is better supports like apps and etc just. But anyway I have question if exist any Application for CPU testing because sometime when I open any apps or Games in Webbrowser the processor fan make too much noice for nothing.

I'm running a Linksys Velop mesh system which served me very well. I take care of my home network very well, it's top notch. Also never had any issues when my NUC was running Mojave (ethernet) or Win10 (wifi ac).

I just moved IntelMausiEthernet.kext to L/E and rebuild the cache with hackintool but also that didn't help.

It's very strange that so many people with a NUC8 have diffferent issues with their hackintosh even though they use the same EFI folder (yours)...

So if I set my Ethernet in macos to 100Mbit full duplex the result is better:

Code:
[ 4] 82.00-83.00 sec 6.25 MBytes 52.4 Mbits/sec 0 1.60 MBytes
[ 4] 83.00-84.00 sec 6.25 MBytes 52.4 Mbits/sec 0 1.72 MBytes
[ 4] 84.00-85.00 sec 6.25 MBytes 52.4 Mbits/sec 0 1.81 MBytes
[ 4] 85.00-86.00 sec 5.00 MBytes 41.9 Mbits/sec 0 1.88 MBytes
[ 4] 86.00-87.00 sec 6.25 MBytes 52.4 Mbits/sec 0 1.93 MBytes
[ 4] 87.00-88.00 sec 6.25 MBytes 52.4 Mbits/sec 0 1.96 MBytes
[ 4] 88.00-89.00 sec 6.25 MBytes 52.4 Mbits/sec 0 1.98 MBytes
[ 4] 89.00-90.00 sec 6.25 MBytes 52.4 Mbits/sec 0 1.99 MBytes
[ 4] 90.00-91.00 sec 6.25 MBytes 52.4 Mbits/sec 0 2.00 MBytes
[ 4] 91.00-92.00 sec 6.25 MBytes 52.4 Mbits/sec 0 2.00 MBytes
[ 4] 92.00-93.00 sec 5.00 MBytes 41.9 Mbits/sec 0 2.00 MBytes
[ 4] 93.00-94.00 sec 6.25 MBytes 52.4 Mbits/sec 0 2.00 MBytes
[ 4] 94.00-95.00 sec 6.25 MBytes 52.4 Mbits/sec 0 2.00 MBytes
[ 4] 95.00-96.00 sec 6.25 MBytes 52.4 Mbits/sec 0 2.00 MBytes

But this is really not an option for me..

Most have success, its the users that have problems that usually visit the forum looking for a fix. Once they do then they tend to move on. Your issues are fairly unique to you. My suggestion if you have had better success there I would go back to Mojave. For whatever reason you seem to have had your fair share of challenges from the beginning, maybe a fresh install is what you need.

a totally unrelated question:I use a 4K monitor (LG 27UK850) and I’m wondering if anybody else notices that the launchpad framerate is quite low? I’m expecting the Iris Plus to be more then capable to have a fluent animation opening launchpad? I’m wondering if anybody else noticed this?

Also to come back on this one: it has something to do with the scaling settings in Macos:
Scale 1 (Looks like 1920x1080, 1080p or Full HD) ==> buttery smooth
Scale 2 (Looks like 2560x1440, 1440p) ==> buttery smooth
Scale 3 (Looks like 3008x1692) ==> very choppy
Scale 4 (Looks like 3360x1890) ==> very choppy
Scale 5 (Looks like 3840x2160, 2160p or 4K) ==> buttery smooth

I think the 4K monitor handles some resolutions better then other. The ones that are buttery smooth are well known resolutions (1080p, 1440p, 2160p) the other 2 are not really common in the industry.

So I'm now at native 4K, it's small but I tweaked the font size a little in Finder and it looks awesome!

Same with me, no wifi so my iPad needs to be attached via USB for it to work. On my main machine it works via Wifi.

SIDECAR FOR NEWER MACS ONLY HMM

Ah, The extra info helps. I'm surprised they put such high specs for sidecar only working on the latest Macbooks and Macbook Airs. My daughters macbook air mid 2013 works fine using https://www.duetdisplay.com/ which is sidecar sort of. It is a second screen. I get it won't have all the features of using the ipad to draw etc that sidecar offers but they could offer a reduced second screen like Duet Display.

SIDECAR HARDWARE COMPATIBILITY: https://www.macrumors.com/2019/06/06/macos-catalina-sidecar-limited-to-newer-macs/

I think it is a ploy to make you buy a newer model Macbook/Pro/Air.

I repair PC's and Mac's hardware and the number of people who have been told to get a NEW Mac as theirs is now too old to fix is crazy. Some very easy fixes like new OS or a small hardware fix is all they need.

Not sure if anyone else facing the same issue. my nuc8i7beh with 0071bios installed with efi in post 901, keep crashing and restarting.

Are you running Mojave or Catalina. If the latter did you download the latest bios from post 901 which was updated for Catalina recently. If not download it and replace it with the updated files and see if that works.
