Update from Mojave - no GPU output - Black screen

Because of first problem with update, I used SSDT-EC.aml to EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/Patched.
Installation was ok, reboots and then - monitor goes black, no output.
Tried safe mode, disabled all kexts, no luck.

Now I’m typing from my iPad, I don’t have any other Mac.. can’t post clover settings or efi folder.
What can I do with just clover boot?

I'm having the same issue. Safe Mode doesn't work. It does boot up on the restore partition.
We seem to have a similar config. It appears to happen when the graphics card kicks in.

Yes, it’s boots correctly until try to show some graphic(login or something).

I updated the lilu and Whatevergreen kexts. No difference. But it still boots from the recovery partition just fine. It still feels like when the GPU kicks it. I get the apple logo and the progress bar, but then at a point, it seems like at about 75%, the screen goes black and then it lights up just black.

If you are using a Display Port from the video card to your Monitor swap it and use an HDMI connection .. Catalina seems to have shutoff Display ports on RX 580 for us Hackintosh users. Until someone can figure out how to re-enable Display Ports again

I do not think Catalina turned off DP on RX 580
All 3 work for me, I dont have 3 displays
Shows same output on the DP ports, HDMI is second output (when connected)
I switch inputs on LG UHD display
When I get a second matching display then I test how the DP functions in Catalina
I need to test DVI though

Workaround for - no GPU output - Black Screen RX 580

I successfully Upgraded from Mojave 10.14.6 to Catalina without any problems except the Black Screen issue. Currently using a Gigabyte Z390m Motherboard with I5 9600k and Sapphire pulse RX 580 8gb. When i performed the direct upgrade, it just so happens i was using the Display Port on my Video...

Have the same issue here. I was using 2 Dell monitors on DP and now I have to put one of them to the HDMI port. So no more 2 x 4k@60hz...
