macOS 10.15 Catalina is Now Available on the Mac App Store

I have a similar system I am looking to upgrade (P55A-UD4P), would you mind posting which Kexts and Patches were required.

Thanks in advance. Hard to believe these old systems can still run the latest Mac OS
I am not surprised. It's not the board that matters as much as the GPU now a days. Even the OG i7 CPUs are powerful enough for modern workloads. The i7-970 Hexa-Core chips are phenomenal even till today. The only reason I don't have the old X58A board is that I didn't want to stay with older BIOS, SATA2, and etc... A more modern board with Z77 and X79 are better for our modern workloads. Good Luck and Happy Hackintosh.

Anyone got it working with FileVault enabled? I had FileVault enabled on Mojave, installation completed but after that it stopped showing the disk in Clover only Preboot and Recovery. If I select Preboot, it gets stuck at the Apple Logo without any indicator. Tried with -v as well, just get a blinking cursor along with Apple Logo. If I go into recovery and decrypt the drive, everything works.

I have the r5070 in Clover and updated drivers in the drivers/UEFI folder and kexts. Any ideas? Thanks!

I have FileVault but haven't updated yet.

Your stuck at Apple logo maybe fixed by SSDT-EC in ACPI/patched. I'm curious to know if that works for you

No it didn't work. I am not sure if that patch is only if your installation gets stuck. I have verified (by booting into recovery and decrypting the drive) that the installation completed. Clover also works in non-FileVault mode. Did a couple of reboots as part of updating Clover and drivers to the latest.

I think both EC0 to EC and the SSDT-EC fixes are for partial or failed installations.

Everything works fine in Catalina without FileVault. Re-enabled FileVault, back to the stuck Apple Logo screen.

I have an Asus Sabertooth M.1, i5... mojave purrs on this, but Catalina install, I can’t even get past this: (apfs_module_start: 1683)

Is your board Gigabyte because my understanding is the builtin wifi card is not native in OS X so I am surprise you got it to work in Mojave. I have the Z390 wifi pro and the builtin card only work when I boot into Windows. I have to use a card native to Mac OS.

Yeah it's Gigabyte... IDK how but it was working in Mojave. I do have a dual boot and it was working in Windows too like yours, but I guess I got lucky for it working in Mojave. What cards are native to Mac OS? Thankfully Wi-Fi isn't my primary network source.

Thanks, that help me get my machine to update. I also used 4937 of Clover. I didn't even make the 'no entry' sign with 5070

BTW: what does this line do? or can you post a link that I read about it. (otherwise I do some googling) thx
