[GUIDE] Injection of AMD Vega Power and Fan Control Properties

You can only set one ramp up point however, make sure you have the max speed set to the fastest the fan will spin. IF this was me I would set the Idle to 1000, Target speed to 2500, Min speed to 400, Maximum speed to 4000 or what ever the max setting, and target temperature to 50. Lastly I would set the TDC% to somewhere between 50 -80.

is the TDC% the maximum fan speed by % ?
Because i see that the speed of the fan is something about 2500 (while i set it @ 4900) so it's like 50% of the max

No it is the power limit setting, lower will help to keep the card cooler, in theory! I think I have read something that says it does not do anything in MacOS but I am unsure so I set it anyways.

As stated before in the first post: "Try leaving all the settings at default and only "Idle Speed" to 1000, "Target Speed" to 4900, and "Target Temperature" to 55"...in your case and in my case I lowered the target temp to 35. (I like to keep my idle temp lower than 55). Let us know how that works out for you.

As stated before in the first post:
Very nice!
I set up wrong the target Temp ;)
now on 35° everything works smooth
For the config.plist guide, is it updated to the latest clover version?
The question now is "Is it possible to generate a custom speed curve" or "Is it possible to increase the fan speed more than the actual maximum default?"

To avoid any miscomprehension, again...

YES i generated the kext leaving all the default settings for the Vega 56 with target temp to 35° (as stated before)

VGTab does not generate a curve the fan scales with the heat but you only have a start and end point everything in-between is lineal. It may be possible, in windows create some kind of Fan Curve and export the power play tables and then merge them with your config. If it is possible it is beyond my knowhow.

This is a really interesting point, i'll make some tests

I planning mod my Vega 64 for Liquid Cooled (original).

@cghackmac,

Sapphire Vega 64 LC is one of the fastest and cool running Vega cards released, why do you feel the need to mod it ?

Cheers
Jay

Hi Jay, I mean the existing Vega64 card is reference version, I just want to upgrade LC parts like Sapphire. ^.^"

thanks a lot~

Finished~ but cannot boot to MacOS, keep reboot.
