Thought you guys might appreciate my 9900k 5.3, 5.2 AVX overclock success

with a bit more tweaking I was able to get 5.2 all cores AVX load stable! WOO!

I'd love to hear how you did this! I'm having problems getting my 9900k to be stable at 5ghz and my temps are >100 when I go near it - with AVX offset down 5. My cpu is only stable in the 1.33v range. I'm starting to think I lost the lottery.

I personally don’t think u lost the lottery. Almost all 9900ks can easily be stable at 5ghz all cores. It sounds like your cooling solution is the issue. I’m using a Corsair h150i 360 rad with a delidded 9900k under a der8auer OC frame with liquid metal as my TIM. At 5ghz all cores on prime95 small ffts I’m maxing 65-70c. Currently I’m stable at 1.4v 0 AVX offset 5.3 ghz all cores after tweaking my core cache ratio. What’s your current cooling solution?

I fixed the cooling - I have a Corsair 280 AOI and it was running in quiet mode - I managed to get that to extreme and now my temps are good.

I can get it to boot at 1.35 with 5ghz but it's not stable in osx. Meaning it won't complete a Cinebench and then a Geekbench run. But it will under Windows. I tried up to 1.375 and it still locks up, so now I think that there is some BIOS setting that I don't have set correctly which os x doesn't like.

This is what I'm doing -
XMP profile 1
Mult 50
Mulitcore enhancement disabled
Uncore ratio 47
vcore load line turbo (2 down from max)
vcore 1.35

Anything else you recommend checking?

Turn ur fans to max in the bios when testing, also change ur uncore to 43 and work your way up from there. 46 was the highest stable I could get no matter the voltage/core ratio. I had the same issue at 47 uncore.

Oh also if you have an Asus mobo put the load line calibration to 6-7, lower for a gigabyte board. I personally keep mine at 7.

uncore 43 locked and so did auto. Leaving it at auto and taking the multiplier down to 49 works fine. Something about that last 100mhz :/

Try 45 and 46 uncore and try 1.31 vcore for 5.0, when I get home I’ll share my settings with you.

Are you sure you're on 5.2GHz? I'm only on 5GHz right now and my scores are almost the same and I'm on air cooling.
