Ok I’ve followed tonymacx86 post on installing Mavericks. My current MacBook Pro won’t install any newer version than El Capitan, and the App Store won’t let me download (or even show me) anything but Mavericks. So I’ve tried to create the flash drive per the instructions, which appear to have worked. It was partitioned with the master boot record and os extended. But when I plug it into the USB 2.0 it does nothing. Neither does 3.0 or 3.1. Not sure what to do.

MoBo:
ASUS tuf Z390-PRO gaming WiFi
USB 2.0:
Logisys 4 port 2x2.0 and 2x3.0

The 2.0 is plugged into the 10-1 pin socket on the MoBo but I guess it doesn’t see it?

What am I missing?

I just realized that it can see the USB. Maybe the UniBeast didn’t install properly?

Here’s some other pics. In the info tab back on my Mac, it does say it’s bootable.

The instructions say to format the USB as GUID - Yours is MBR :

Ill try it that way but the instructions I followed say MBR

My bad, I didn't notice that you wanted to install mavericks.
Your hardware is much too new to be supported in Mavericks.

You’re probably right. I made the stick with GUID and the MoBo shows it in the boot menu now, but it won’t boot it. I just installed Mavericks on another drive in my MacBook. I’m going to see if it’ll let me download El Capitan, hopefully I can make some progress that way.

Your hardware is too new for El Capitan too.
Your processor was released in Q4'18 so any OS prior to that is unlikely to support it.

If you can't borrow a newer Mac from a friend to make your Mojave installer there are some other options. You could buy a 2012 or later Mac Mini and download Mojave from that. Easy to resell it later if you don't want it.
You can buy a Dell Optiplex 7010 or HP 8300 with a CPU that has HD4000 graphics. Then install Snow leopard to that to get Mac App store access. The easiest way is to borrow or rent a Mac but if you don't have one locally, these ways will work.
