The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

@nutsu Thanks for that info and congratulations.
Sleep - not sure what you have tried but given your GPU is not on the recommended list (although its faster twin the 580 is) it may never work, but I'd check if WhateverGreen (latest version) has anything new to help, another workaround seems to be flashing a 580 BIOS onto your 480. Other than that, setting your BIOS graphics setting to 'Auto Detect' and "AMD" causes some changes in sleep behaviour (I think 'auto' disables the on-board GPU whereas select AMD keeps onboard GPU alive.) I'd advise asking in the hackintool thread - if there is anything in it's auto-patching that might help with your GPU.

Thanks Daneland. Unfortunately upgrading my BIOS to A24 didn''t really help. It didnt seem to have hurt anything else as well.

I did a second install on another hard disk and tried suggestions from many threads (deinit, no WEG, latest WEG, faking the 570 to 580, CFG_LIMIT...). I am guessing there's something odd about my setup, especially the 570. Noticed WEG has a debug mode. Will try it out to see if I can spot something.

BTW, should we build custom SSDTs? I noticed this in the 7010/9010 Guide. Thanks.

If you followed these instructions you should have installed the prepared ones? Post 1 - 'Custom SSDT's.zip.'

Can 2 1080p monitors be used with integrated 4600 graphics on the 7020MT?

@li3p and @nicksoph

The Github files and techniques of JimLee1996 look interesting but they are obviously not compatible with this guide. He's using virtualsmc, voodooHDA and other kexts which aren't a part of this guide. See screenshot below.

I don't recommend that anyone mix bits and pieces of these two guides together. Modifying the BIOS does incur some serious risks. I'm not offering any support to anyone that does. It is outside the scope of this guide. Any posts related to this will be off topic here. Start a new thread if you want to attempt a BIOS mod and test that to enable 4K with HD4600 and experiment. I will post a link to that for those interested.

To a new thread dedicated to that. If we start researching that here it will take over this build guide. Not everyone is going to want to use a modded bios. Google: jimlee1996 Github should bring it up.
He listed some changes for WhateverGreen which I'd like - if deleted then just say and delete these posts - I will make another thread for 4k without an external GPU but would like to have quoted the OP esp the info re whatevergreen edits.

Started thread - https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/dell-7020-4k-monitors-on-intel-4600-integrated-gpu.282589/
Can you move his OP to it?

@nutsu How fast is your USB 3.0? I have same spec 7020. I checked mine with Blackmagic Disk Speed Test app, and it's about 30~40MB/s. I'm not sure it's USB 3.0 speed. Thank you.

I think I have narrowed down the problem a bit. Removed the RX570 to use the onboard HD4600 alone. Does not Wake from Sleep, just as it was with the RX570. Go to BIOS and enabled (ticked) "Legacy Option ROMs", Sleep and Wake works fine with no other changes. So, we need to first get 4600 + No-Legacy-Option-ROMS to work properly with Sleep/Wake.

Either that or figure out how to get RX570 to work well with the Legacy-option-ROMS

Nick/Dane, can you confirm that Sleep/Wake works without the Legacy-Option-ROM ticked for you with onboard HD4600? Thanks...!
