Thanks for the tip, Jay, but I cannot compile it as my desktop is still on High Sierra and I can no longer download Xcode :( Is there a compiled version on Bitbucket or elsewhere?
Check the releases page for a pre-compiled version:

Rehabmans version of VoodooPS2Controller has not been updated in a long time and no longer in active development it also lacks native MacOS gesture support.

Try the new version (from the same developers of Lilu, WhatEverGreen .. etc) :-

It supports native MacOS click/track pad gestures such as pich to zoom, smart zoom ... etc
I've been using it on my 2017 Spectre X360 for a month or so and its great to have the extra gestures working.
Seems to be much more responsive than ReHabMans version ...

This version is in active development so if you have problems you can report them to developers and help to make it even better/stable .. etc

Cheers
Jay
How did I not know about this? This is great.

I know RehabMan took a step back, so I’m glad that this got picked up. Thanks for sharing, Jay.

@ShortFormErnie,

Yes, it's a big step forwards in terms of a laptop PS2 track/click pad emulating an Apple one, it's not been without problems, but as its' in active development when you report issues, the devs work to resolve them. The current version is pretty good now. The only issue i see is sometimes cursor movement can be a bit glitchy for a few seconds after waking from sleep.

The more people that use and test it and report any issues the more it will improve.
If you use it and find issues you should report them in the Acidanthera Bugtracker project :-

Cheers

So, I've replaced all the kexts with the most recent versions. Trackpad and keyboard still do not work. Also tried removing the VoodooPS2Controller.kext plugins, VoodooPS2touchpad.kext and VoodooPS2mouse.kext, as per Ernie's tip, but this also didn't work.

Installer also still hanging with 2 mins. to go. Here are my boot args:
<string>dart=0 nv_disable=1 -disablegfxfirmware -cdfon -igfxnohdmi lilucpu=8</string>

Maybe it has something to do with the NVME. I removed all of the partitions I could, but it still has some HP software in there, which starts when I don't have the MacOS installer USB drive and then tries to repair the Windows partition that is no longer on there.

Perhaps you can try installing it on an external drive first? I think the preferred method for setting up Mojave is to install it on an external SSD and use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy it over.

In the case of the HP software, yeah, that’s basically because you haven’t had a chance to copy over your EFI code.

Thanks, just tried it. It seems to have made a lot of progress, but I ended up turning it off because it seems to lead the battery to drain while it’s sleeping. Perhaps the trackpad is too sensitive? (I’ll give it another shot when I’m less busy.) I think it’s looking really close, though I miss having four-finger support.

EDIT: I see there’s actually a patch for this! https://github.com/acidanthera/VoodooPS2/blob/voodooinput/Docs/ACPI/SSDT-HP-FixLidSleep.dsl

@ShortFormErnie,

Yhea, I've noticed that too, I tried adding adding e005=0 as a Custom PS2 Map - which is what the HP Lid Fix SSDT does but it did not help ... at least not for me). The previous version of the kext would not allow my Spectre X360 to sleep at all so progress has been made since then.

The current release seems to work ok with sleep most of the time but occasionally i find the battery is completely drained which isn't ideal. Would be good if you could also report the issue to the devs so that they know its not just an isolated problem.

Please add a comment to issue 334 on the Bugtracker project :-

I tried installing to an external drive and the same thing happens, the installer freezes and I noticed the external mouse does, too. The trackpad and keyboard are unresponsive.
