Hey Guys.

This is my first post.

I have a PC with windows 10 build 1903 already installed on an nvme drive (950pro), in UEFI on a GDP partition.
I want to install High Sierra on a separate SSD.
Can I use this guide to do it? https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...o-x99-successful-build-extended-guide.227001/

These are almost the same specs as my system

Mobo: Asus X99 deluxe ii. Bios 2101 (latest from 2019)
CPU: Intel 6950x
Ram: Corsair LED White 64GB DDR4 3200Mhz
GPU: Asus GTX 1070 Turbo
Windows installed on Samsung 950 Pro nVme drive (UEFI/GDP partition)

Many thanks

No reason not to as this is a guide to installing on a build very close to yours.
That said, beware: patching the BIOS/UEFI firmware can brick your board. Read the section on patching the firmware very carefully and compare to your current BIOS/UEFI - why did kgp patch the BIOS and did the latest BIOS 2101 you updated to eliminate the need for patching? If not, research first to find out if it is possible to patch in Clover rather than in the firmware. If the firmware patch is required, proceed very carefully and follow the steps in the guide strictly.

However you decide, good luck with it.

Thanks for your reply. Yes patching the bios is the only thing that makes me nervous... since it is not exactly the same BIOS version. I have attached a picture of what the Micronodes of the Asus Deluxe II BIOS 2101 looks like (released on 2019/07/17).

It looks like the micronodes on CPUID 306F2, 406F1 and 306F1 are still not patched, but the rest is there compared to @kgp bios 1902.

kgp I know this is an old thread and close for replies, but any chance you can have a look at let me know if it is relatively safe to update those missing micronodes and flash my mobo with it? I managed to update everything the BIOS files easily with UBU and also applied the UEFI patch with UEFIPatch 0.3.9

Bios 2101 does not seem to be msr 0xe2 locked. You probably don't need to do anything to bios.

Hey mate, I have not even started to install OSX on my system, and even though I have been reading and getting informed about hackintosh builds for quite sometime, I'm sure they are others in this forum much better equiped at answering your questions. Sorry I couldn't help this time.

Thanks for that mate.! Would you mind pointing out which particular code line refers to the msr 0x2r? Also there is still he question of those 2 CPU micronodes that are disabled, those were enabled in KGP setup...

I thought I would give some updates in case someone is trying to follow the same guide with this build.
Asus x99 deluxe ii Bios 2101 patched just fine with micronodes and unlocked following he guide mentioned in the OP.

With the GTX 1070 it also works fine with the web drivers. However do not forget to to enable "NivideaWeb" in the system parameters in clover.. could not find that bit mentioned in the guide mentioned. my gpu did not work til that happened

I got everything working, motherboard onboard wifi, bluetooth, USBs, thunderbolt... Find benchmark bellow.

Thank you for the answer!
Please, tell me
Did you do only this patch in UEFITool
  1. # PowerMgmtDxe | Haswell-E
  • F7731B4C-58A2-4DF4-8980-5645D39ECE58 10 P:0FBA6C24380F:0FBA7424380F

Or with NVRAM?

2. # AMI APTIO V NvramSmiDxe (Socket 2011-v3 MB: C612, X99) NVRAM whitelist unlock

Do we need it on bios 2101?

2. Did you do BIOS setting exactly as in KGP tutorial?

I have success boot with disabled _xcpm_bootstrap and not working CPU correctly. But the system work in this case.

If i enable _xcpm_bootstrap the system start, but then after time i have panic and restart. But in this case CPU work correct.

My CPU is 5930

3. i kindly ask you to share your EFI. (i'm interesting KernelAndKextPatches section)
