[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Does anyone know what the 20pin internal USB-C 3.1 gen 2 name is HSXX/SSXX?
Sure; this is mentioned in the USB port diagram in the build guide:

The problem is, I'm blind. So I cannot see that picture, unless I OCR it. And then I have to take a lucky guess.

If you could be so kind and tell me the HSxx/SSxx number. I'd love that. :)

There is good news and bad news.

Good news: We finally see a hint of Bluetooth -- on HS11:

Bad news: This is not the correct tree structure for Bluetooth.

Your WiFi/BT card (link below) is based on BCM94360CD (good chip). Try moving the card to the bottom long slot. But shutdown the computer and remove power cable before moving the card.

If we cannot get Bluetooth working, you may need to consider the Fenvi FV-T919:
Hum, yes I think so. Some forks also reported a failed bluetooth card with a same model like me. I am no longer surprised :smileintears:

Question 1: How can I put a PCIx1 card into a PCIx16 slot =.,=?

Question 2: Can we get the shutdown/ restart works properly? I still cannot figure out. I think I will order the BT card, but meantimes I hope the machine can work stable as a reason for my first ever Hackintosh.

Question 3: Can I buy you a coffee :)) ?

I have ran my Hackintosh build with both the Vega 56 Air Cooled and now with the Radeon VII. Yes, it's definitely faster but honestly not THAT much faster in Final Cut or Photoshop. It can play 4K games at Ultra/60fps no problem but there are not that many programs that utilize it. I mean, the Apple drives are SUPER optimized for the RX580 - It's almost crazy what they can get out of that card, and are only somewhat optimized with the Radeon VII.

If you can wait for driver support, I would think a $400 5700xt would be the way to go. For now, I would just grab a Vega 56 or 64 because they are so cheap. I would sell you my Vega 56 for $200 if you want it!

But then again, look how nice that Radeon VII looks...

@JayShay

Thank you for the informations. It was what I imagined, that would not compensate much for the program had more use PS and LR. I think I'll wait for new drivers and get a 5700 RX. Or if an interestingly priced Radeon VII appears.

Hello @Rag, although the Radeon VII is significantly better than the RX 580 on paper, real world performance with Photoshop and Lightroom is affected by the quality of drivers and quality of the software itself. I would encourage you to search this site and the net for benchmarks.

Any Photoshop/Lightroom users want to chime in?

Radeon VII vs RX 580
  • 3840 cores vs 2304 cores
  • 64 ROPS vs 32 ROPs
  • 240 Texture Mapping Units vs 144
  • 16GB High Bandwidth Memory (4096 bits wide) vs 8GB GDDR5 Memory (256 bits wide)
From the research I did, Adobe don’t Optimise their softwear for use with AMD cards like they do with Nvidia cards, the actually performance gain is minimal in real world. I use an Vega Rx64 which can be found easily enough and is about half the price of the now discontinued Vega vii.

remember to use a PS2 keyboard

I don't think I've had a PS/2 keyboard in 20 years. ;) Also, I find it a bit strange that the DESIGNARE has a PS/2 port yet the AORUS PRO WIFI does not. Wonder how that decision was made?

I did not need a PS2 keyboard
just make a bootable USB drive with the tools Samsung explains in their manual.
Boot with the USB drive and do the steps Samsung stated om screen.
Did it twice, no problems at all, als MacOS runs like a charm on it (it is FAST...)
