Could anybody check if their NVMe controller appears like Generic SSD Controller and not like Apple SSD Controller?

Looks fine to me :)

My Samsung NVMe 951 is reporting as an 'Apple SSD Controller' under SATA/SATA Express tab,

but is reporting as a 'Generic SSD Controller' under NVMExpress tab in System Information.

Probably just cosmetic issue as there is no noticeable degradation of the NVMe drives speed.

I’ve had the same issue with low budget SSD SATA drives. Samsung, Sandisk, Kingston drives all list correctly but Inland Pro SSDs list as generic.

Is the 951 listing as Samsung?

Thanks! I wonder if it depends on a SSD disk itself...Mine says Apple SSD Controller on 10.14.5 and Generic SSD Controller on 10.15 Beta...What could be changed? I have Intel 760p SSD

Could anyone with 970 EVO check what it tells in their NVMExpress tab please?

Yes, the 951 is listing as SAMSUNG MZHPV256HDGL-00000, this is a AHCI SATA SSD installed to the built-in x2 NVMe slot on my Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H motherboard

The other Samsung 951 (NVMe drive is mounted on a daughter card in a 8/4x PCI-e slot) is also showing but not under the SATA/SATA Express tab obviously. This is the one that is showing as Generic SSD Controller under the NVMExpress tab, but it is still listed as a Samsung drive
