[Guide] Lenovo V330-15IKB using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Status
Not open for further replies.
That was my old laptop, i modified the signature now. is the LENOVO V330-15IKB (81AX) the only difference is that mine only have the UHD620 as video card and display is not Full HD, it's 1366x768.
Everything is working flawless only need to know if the temps are normal.
Hm.. haven't honestly checked temps, the guide will be updated soon as well.
New changes happened so i need to update it accordingly and more optimizations have been done.

Honestly im not happy with the battery life on this laptop, i ordered an UltraBay battery (to put in the Optical Drive/DVD) place, it has 1.5x the capacity of the internal battery. so i should get like 3 more hours which as 5 hours it should be perfect for me.
The laptop is not old but for the size and the specs, the capacity is small so i never get more than 2 hours.
I use it on full brightness though. i also replaced the trash FHD display with a IPS Full HD display panel and it's so much better, miles better than the original one.
Perfect viewing angles, brighter, very good colors, clear image instead of the sort of foggy LCD display that it had.
I will add the upgrades section on the guide, which i will update it soon.

I have one problem though, i want to know if you have the same as well
2 or 3 bios versions prior to this didn't have that problem, one of the 2 or 3 last bios updates messed something up.
The last one improved it a bit, when battery goes below 25% the laptop get's very laggy it basically works in a single core.
Don't know what kind of stupid implementation is that but it's makes me go nuts.
Previously i never had that problem before those 2 or 3 bios updates.
The bios update released like 3-4 days ago i think it fixed it a bit but its still there.

Before this update, whenever battery dropped like under 40-45% laptop started to stutter a lot (this is on Windows 10 as well).

Im curious to know if your laptop is affected too

No issues with lag on this laptop, but I had that issue with other laptops before and as far as I know, it was related to old version of fakesmc + ACPIBatteryManager + Clover, i updated it with the latests, and the last clover version in sourceforge.
Agree with the screen, it's a total crap! and mine it's 1366x768, it's worse, im from Argentina, I think that the only country that have this laptop with non full hd screen (3rd world issues) haha.
Additional, all the laptops that I hackintoshed before, i did it patching the DSDT properly, but with your guide it was not necessary, also I noted that the brightness + volume keys are fixed, that's awesome.
Can you please download fakesmc + HWMonitor and tell me your temps???
I will check my bios settings and keep you posted on the issues that you have.

Great, i guess i need to do an EC reset then, most probably the Embedded Controller got into a bad state.
It's not a macOS problem, i have it on Windows as well.

I don't have macOS on this laptop currently but i will install it tonight or tomorrow for some additional testing.
As soon as i do i will send you that.

However like i said now instead of FakeSMC i use VirtualSMC.kext, SMCProcessor.kext, SMCBatteryManager.kext, SMCSuperIO.kext

You also have to make sure to put VirtualSMC.efi into EFi/Clover/Drivers64UEFI and delete SMCHelper-64.efi.

I did some major changes yesterday to this laptop setup.
After hardcore debugging, testing, analyzing i removed a huge chunk of things that weren't necessary.
Changed the way of patching some things.
Laptop feels way better now, im still working on some things.
The update should be pretty huge so it will take a few days to revamp the guide.

Mine it's a bit laggy in the first 3 minute after the boot. Then it works even for an hackintosh laptop. Can't wait to try new updates and thanks for your hard work. This week I'll get Matebook 13 with i7, and i want to do the same for the comunity.

Major guide update !

I suggest everyone to read and update their files (SSDT-V330.aml, config.plist and kexts) as listed (updated) on the guide.
Also standard clover builds are now recommended as Rehabman fork hasn't been update anymore.

Enjoy !

hi Sniki
you removed SSDT-PNLF SSDT-ALSO SSDT-HDEF SSDT-RMCF from your Repo
are these SSDTs not necessary? and added xh_rvp07 in config.plist under DropTables section

also USBInjectAll.kext is not list in the Guide is it not necessary?

Read Github commits.

all of these removed stuff is not needed anymore and replaced with better solutions
USBInjectAll.kext not needed either - as i just released the new kext-less usb implementation method first on my laptop.
I patched the xh_rvp07 to work correctly without kext, usb ports work without USBInjectAll.kext now.
No need for that.
All you have to do is have the listed kexts, config.plist and SSDT-V330.aml
