Good evening!

Four years ago i built my first computer and hackintosh, and it has served me well throughout the years, however as i require more and more computing power, the systems is starting to show its age.

For this build i am looking for three things specially: Size, Power and Compatibility (ethernet, wifi, bluetooth, continuity, airdrop, etc).

My current plans for such build are as follows:

Case : Phantens Enthoo Evolv Space Grey
Motherboard: Asus Z390i STRIX Gaming
CPU: Intel i9-9900K
RAM: Corsiar Dominator Platinum 32GB (16GB x2) 3200MHz
CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 2018
PSU: Silverstone SFX 800W 80+ Platinum
Scratch Drive: Samsung 970 Pro 1TB SATA SSD
GPU: either a RX560 or RX580, will depend on the monitors i get

However i am unsure of the compatibility of some of the following components

the Samsung 970 EVO PRO m.2 NVME SSD with macOS
the ability of replacing the stock wifi card, and which one would be the best one to replace it with
(WiFi, Bluetooth (5 possibly), Continuity)

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

No idea about the the Wifi replacement.

The Samsung 970 Pro should work without problems under MacOS High Sierra and Mojave. It was the 970 EVO Plus that had problems and a recent firmware update from Samsung appeared to have resolved the issue.

For WiFi you can use a Broadcom BCM94352Z M.2 NGFF WIFI Card. I am using the same MB and that is the card I am using.

Would that card give me Bluetooth (the bios kind one where it’s low level paired) continuity and handoff?

And how easy is it to remove the shroud around the WiFi card?

I do get Bluetooth( not sure what you mean by the Bios kind) but I’ve never tested the Continuity and Handoff on it. It was easy to remove but you have to pay attention on how the clips came off or you could have a hard time putting them back. Now if you want true native support you can purchase a genuine Apple airport card with adapter and install that but then you cannot use the shroud.

Consider the ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX/ac If you want Thunderbolt and an easier time with USB ports. 4 of the USB 3.1 ports are Gen 2 which do not count toward 15 usb port limit. There are only 4 USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and 3 USB 2 ports. Not even sure it would need a custom SSDT for USB. Even if it does, you'll be able to use all of the USB ports.

Ohhhh that seems like a nice board
what is the state of Thunderbolt in a mackintosh nowadays?

also, the wifi chip seems painfully easy to replace, which I consider a plu
