Hello everyone, i've tried many times to get a hackintosh system fully functional, and only recently i've bought an intel one...

I've Installed Mojave .0 flawless, and i was able to update from system preferences the os too.

After a lot of tests, i've messed up everything while trying to have a full acceleration with my video card and learning how things works.
Nevermind, re-installed everything and then understood how to recover the system with all messed up: multibeast, clover configuration, and go for a UHD 630 acceleration.

i've bought a GT 710 only for having more possibilities to have a working system, but actually i've put the two gpu under test with software and simple preview of many files, and i find out that the 630 performs ways better. So even if the 710 GT is still in some entry of the registry, i will take it out as soon as i shut down the pc.

There is also a RTX 2070 in the system with no cables attached, because i use it under windows 10 in a separate SSD. The GT 710 will be removed, but the RTX 2070 needs to remain in the system. It hasn't make any difference having it inside or not (except for when i tried installing high sierra. without the RTX it worked. with, no way).

The system is booting from a 970 EVO and i plan to have a CCC on the other 970 twin, that for now is empty.

I'd like to write a guide for people with a system like mine, so they can have a nice machine like that but for now, i have two issues.

the things i was not able to achieve and are really important are two:

USB... system info shows a USB 3.1 HUB with a36d controller, nothing else.
I've mapped all of my ports with a usb 2.0 HUB and a sandisk usb 3.0 32gb key.

On the motherboard there are 6 USB ports divided in
U31G2_12
U31G1_34
U31G1_56

if i understood right when i've made 3 version of a SSDT file, the first two are Usb 3.1 Generation 2. Those two ports are not working correctly, i've mapped them to HS01 and HS02 as port type 3, and if i connect a mouse to them i have a mouse that works.. but if i plug the usbkey i've used for mojave installation, the system won't show it up and say nothing even if i disconnect it. Even IORegistry shows activity to those two ports with a mouse attached and detached, but no activity if i connect the USBKEY.

My plan is to have all the things i don't disconnect ever, at the rear ports at the right speed. Keyboard, mouse, DVD writer, USB card readers that i need for my work (XQD sony, two lexar mixed CF and SD ) and one usb 3.0 cable for easy external hard drives connection.

Also, i have 2 front ports (that now are working with the DVD writer and the mouse connected, because the two gen2 are not working on the rear) that are connected to the motherboard at U31G1 number 9 and 10.
They recognize my mouse, and a usb 3.0 hub but only as a 2.0 480mb/sec, and did not recognize my usbkey 3.0 again.
I assume the two front ports 3.0 are not working as the two rear 3.0

Then, another two on the back 3.0 in a bracket, that works in the same way as the 4 faulty above: yes 2.0, no 3.0, no usbkey.

And last, 4 usb 2.0 that are working as they are supposed to do: everything at 2.0 speed of course, but they recognize my usbkey and hard drives, for example, that the other 3.0 non motherboard soldered do.

finishing: every port is working at 480 mb/sec as maximum speed.

I've made many ssdt file with uninstallation a re installation of usb inject all, but i had no luck. The only thing i didn't do is replace XHC1 with XHC because even with a tons of researches, i haven't found how to do it since in clover there's no option in list of patches. But if i understood while reading the rehabman guide and many other resources, my motherboard is already XHC "thing".

i'm totally lost.. i've attached to this post the zip file generated by the automated tool downloaded from a link in this forum, hoping that someone can give me a hint or help me in understanding what i'm doing wrong.

The second major issues is that if the computer goes to sleep, it won't wake up. Black screen, retroillumination on for a while then no signal and nothing to do.

i've done also tried many solutions founded in this forum (the last one was a thread about laptop power management and backlight) but when i found out that USB ports could be a sleep/wake issue, i've decided to start again from the last configuration that works and go for a usb solution once for all.

Thanks to anyone that had at least read this thread..

i'll attach the files requested for help, and the SSDT file in aml and dsl that i used for the last try.

p.s. as soon as i press "post thread" i'll check if i entered the information in the correct manner under my profile.

Checked, everything is ok. I will remove the GT when it will be removed also from the pc.

thanks again.

Hello Again.

i've managed to solve the USB 3.0 port not working in 3.0 and hd/usbkey not recognized. I understood that my aml files were correct all the time i've assembled one.

My error was in the "disable port limit" patch in clover. Since Rehabman said "i don't trust clover configurator for editing config.plist" i've decided to use plist editor, in first instance.
I wasn't able to "patch" under kextstopatch the port limit, but with the plist editor i've seen in the botto half of the window the exact same code provided in config_patches.plist provided with USBInjectAll on GitHub.

Now, i have Mojave 1.14.0 running, and i've choose the patch for that os. Inside config_patches i see only a patch for this OS and 10.14.1/2 but not 10.4.3.

-This means that if i update mojave to the last version, i have no possibilities to have my entire set o usb ports working until someone somehow find out what key has to be replaced?

For the second problem, as i thought, fixing usb will be a fix also for other problems like sleep since i have a huge amount of peripheals connected and it is supposed to be an issue even in windows with a certain combination of driver and software.
And in fact, a thing that i call "soft" sleep works. But if i allow the computer to sleep deep and shut all the hard drives, then i came up with a black screen with working cursor.
Thing that already happened in my life (windows) when i had two graphics card running on my system. So i tried to remove the RTX 2070 and see what happens. It works... it can wake from every kind of sleep configuration under system preferences.

-Can i disable the RTX in osx without physically removing it?
thank you.

edit_

I forgot the last question: since in the report file nothing changed except the parameters in the kext patch for USB port limits, can someone please have a look at my configuration and see if something is weird, or everything it's ok?
I will look for power management as soon as i'll find a complete solution for 9th series, but i think i'll do that when apple releases some mac with a 9xxx cpu to be sure.
re-thanks.

Hey.

I have the exact same configuration as you and I can't even manage to install it at first.

I've too:
ASUS TUF Z390-PRO GAMING (WIFI)
RTX 2070 (that is unplugged for the moment)
i5-9600K

Tried to follow both of these tuto but can't manage to make it work:

So please let me know how you did it and what's your config.plist and kext please.

Thank you

Hi ramo, well i've built two pc with similar specs with this TUF z390 plus gaming (actually there are a couple of small differences between the pro and the plus version and i bet is something between SLI for nvidia or AMD cards) with I5 9600k and i7 9700 K, one with discrete HD 630 with Lilu+whatevergreen and the other with a GT 710 DDR3.

i've followed pretty much the very first guide on Z390 founded here, and then following any guide made by rehabman for usb, dsdt and video card.

Did you manage to install mojave? what problem did you have exactly? i'm a newbie in osx hack, but i'll do what i can if it can help you.

I can't even boot the USB installer I'm stuck on the Apple logo

I got stuck at apple logo too..did you manage to get a work around?

Hello guys,
I was able to install Mojave with accelerated graphics on my 9600k using this config provided by CaseySJ, this config should work for people running intel's UHD 630 graphics.

Remember to fill the SMBIOS info accordingly and check PluginType in clover configurator after installation.

Good luck.

EDIT: I've edited the config and it should work with your ASUS motherboard, the changes can be found on this guide. Remember to check the config because I've edited it with notepad since I am in windows and I do not have an editor in here, but I'm pretty sure it should work now.

Hi my friend, Will TUF Z390-PLUS GAMING (WI-FI) work well with you if that is so, would you give me your EFI file?

In my case Asus TUF z390-plus gaming (wifi) with Intel Core I5 9600K, it worked out of the box. Installation went smooth. Even iGPU was working with Lilu and WhatEverGreen. I've switched to an Asus Radeon RX570 GPU. In Mojave everything is working like it should. Catalina has some trouble with my graphics card.
