[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Argh. My hardware came in today. 2 separate boxes from Amazon. 1 box slightly damaged, but content OK, the other, containing the expensive i9, severely damaged. The plastic hexagon/octagon thing/box cracked, loose plastic debris inside.
Packing is below par, everything quickly stuffed in a weak cardboard box with not enough cardboard/paper filling to keep it in place during transport. I mean, give me a break, this is a 1000 dollars worth of stuff... They should be more careful.
I sincerely hope my CPU still works. It's not sitting tight in the inner cardboard box either. Is this by design?

I would probably do this with straight editing of the config.plist with BBEdit or Xcode. That's easier. Hard to believe nobody wrote a routine/template/shortcut to do this, that's why I am asking.

Step 1:

Mount EFI partition of your Mojave SSD.

Step 3:

Step 4:
Select the existing config.plist in the EFI/CLOVER folder. Don't worry, Hackintool will backup the existing file and insert the patch in a non-destructive manner.

Step 5:
In Clover Configurator open the modified config.plist and uncheck/blank-out all entries in the Graphics page.

Reboot.

Ha! There you go. Thanks CaseySJ! Good to know hackintool will not blindly overwrite your config file.

Something similar happened to me a couple of years ago. Ordered an Intel Celeron processor from Amazon, but sold by an affiliate. It was packaged well inside a medium size cardboard box. No sign of damage to the box. But when I opened the small blue Intel CPU box, there was nothing inside!

Took photos and used the Amazon website itself to report a problem with the order. Replacement was sent quickly thereafter.
 
The Intel seal looks unbroken. The CPU is inside, and looks OK on quick inspection. But even 1 bent pin will be enough to wreak havoc. I have immediately reported the damage to the affiliate via the Amazon site. Have not heard back yet.

Only AMD CPUs have pins, Intel's just have gold contacts on the underside. Should be fine. The motherboard CPU socket is where you need to look for bent pins that cause problems.
 
Based on the Thunderbolt FAQ on the Antelope website, I would say there's a very good chance the Zen Tour will work with a TB3-to-TB2 adapter. They recommend the StarTech adapter, but the Apple adapter should work as well.

Look at this thread:
Member names @Markzers on post 71 and 73 says the Zen Audio card shows up in IOReg but "However it does not activate the apple thunderboltNode".

It seems the card isn't working.
Does anything come to mind?

Ah. That's why it looks funny. Pins are on the mobo, contacts on the chip. Was the other way around when I was young... Haha.

I remember having to unbend a row of pins back in the day.......
