Thank you. I think it would be to much tight. Maybe I will go with the RX560 or even a gt710. I want to upgrade for photo editing but the main use is for audio production. I have an other 7010 with a gtx 750 ti for light gaming (with windows).
Not to mention that msi gets super loud. I'm returning mine.

What's the max resolution that the HD 4000 will support through DP?

Here's what the Silverstone site says:
The same as if you were installing macOS.
I was hoping to find out what was causing a particular behaviour - not important now but still puzzling. -
When the card only had the NVMe drive and the OS was set to boot from the USB it would boot from USB and show the NVMe drive, as a boot option on the first clover screen.
If I added a standard SATA drive with a Hackintosh install on, directly to the MB (not to the SSD card holding the NVMe drive), it would boot clover from the USB and NOT show the NVMe drive as a clover option but only show the standard SATA drive.
Unhiding drives in Clover still didnt show the NVMe drive.
If it then loaded OSX from the standard SATA the NVMe drive would show in OSX.

Just to add - that upto now on this double SSD on a card build, I didnt put anything in L/Extensions. I think I need to understand more about where kexts should go but atm intending to go with put most in both and select "Detect" in clover. Any thoughts?

I think is 2560×1600. Mine works with a ultrawide monitor (2560 x 1080) at 50 hz.

Do these models not have the fan stop feature where the fans don't start till temps reach at least 60C ?
What kind of tasks caused the fan in the MSI to get too loud ?

Under normal use it's silent. But if you plan on gaming on it's rather loud. I tried playing metro 2033 just to test it's capabilities and right away it started ramping up. I have a Alienware setup with a founders gt 1080 and that one is quiet compared to this MSI. I think depending on what you use the card for it's good but that smaller single fan does make noise if gaming.

I guess that most gamers opt for the larger dual fan version of the 580 by MSI. The single fan version is designed more for content creators that are using a mATX or even a smaller ITX system that need good graphics for whatever they do other than gaming. I'll make a note of that on the graphics card buying guide in post #2.

I initially bought it to use it for both but I couldn't get both IGPU and GPU to be detected in that program you advised me to use. It would only detect the IGPU and not the MSI GPU so I gave up and tested gaming. I'm no content creator but I want to start learning video editing and got a good deal on the card on Amazon open box.

So why not keep it, edit video and learn more and use your 1080 system for gaming ? It shouldn't be that difficult to run with iGPU in headless mode. I haven't had any time to work with that yet but it should be doable. Running iGPU headless is good to have but not mandatory for video work. It simply makes encoding video slower, not the end of the world.
