No, I have the same issue as you have and I was not able to solve it. I gave up and installed Sierra. Sierra installation completed without problem.. Does your computer reboot exactly at the same point as mine? You can check my verbose log by clicking the link in my post above.
Corma77,
My system reboots while trying to load the freshly installed OS. About 15-20 seconds into the boot process, it hit MACH REBOOT and restarts. Maybe I will try Sierra too.

If you use a m2, the bus of sata 1 deactivates and you can not use port sata 1, connect the ssd from sata 2 to sata 6, it is configuration of the mother board, I had the same problem.
Yo have High sierra???

This Great, I have been trying for 4 days and boom. This helped a lot. I can't wait to go through the actual guide to get a better understanding.. I've been using my Machine for 3 years Since Sierra and upgrade usually suck but I Catalina was especially difficult one.... THANKS.

I wish I had time for a full guide, unfortunately its all about "time".
Catalina saw a lot of improvements, I deleted a lot of settings, patches and some kexts, but still had add a few new ones (mainly this).

If you want to share what works for you / what doesn't, you can do it here:
[ASUS ROG STRIX Z270G + CATALINA 10.15.3]

Thanks for your input ;)
