Thanks izo1, @mm2margaret , I am planning to get a Sapphire Radeon Pulse Vega 56 for 10.14.5 upgrade
@mm2margaret @izo1 Questions: What does the AML file do for the Vega Cards? Why I don't need them for 10.14.5?
Sorry for the Noob questions...
Anyone else here noticed, after updating to 10.14.5, a drop in general performance? I'm seeing slow syscall performance throughout the system.
I'd suggest the Vega 64 Nitro+, you've already plopped down this much money on the build
It's mostly cosmetic as it shows the correct names in system profiler.
WhateverGreen takes care of the port routing...
If you do want to get super technical, you can get rid of WhateverGreen and customize an SSDT to do all the work WG does and still show correct info in system profiler...but that's beyond my knowledge, maybe someone else can help.
Personally I just use WG and it's good enough for me, but I know some people will disagree.
.6 will make it better. There hasn't been a PB yet, they're going to make this as stable as possible.
I'm already on .6 , the main problem though is that the performance impact doesn't show up this bad on a Macbook Pro. This might be related to the CPU emulation bits. Need to dig into it a little more
Looking at my extension on the system report, there are none of the Kexts in my config file showing. Is that normal?
They are, is a kext a driver or extension that should be loaded at startup?Config files don’t contain kexts or give direction to kexts.
Your kexts should be in kexts/other
They are, is a kext a driver or extension that should be loaded at startup?
Should all the kexts in the /other folder also be installed into the S/L/E folder?
