CustoMac Mini Is Yosemite the best place to start?

Hi Everyone,

A few years ago I built the customac mini using Snow Leopard and used it for a couple of years. Then I converted it to a Windows machine and now it is a Linus machine. Anyway, I would like to go back to the MacOS. I do not have my Snow Leopard disc any more though. I do have another Mac with Yosemite, Mavericks and Mountain Lion OS downloaded.
Can I start from one of these? If so, is there a documented path/guide? Thanks for your help.

You are using a GA-H77N-Wifi motherboard? If not, what is it?
What is the exact model of the CPU you are using?
You are not using a graphics card?

Please answer these questions and then others can give useful advice.
