sometimes iMovie/FCPX will cause the scree freezing, did anyone has the same issue?
Yes, random freezes in FCPX, Adobe, etc. Not too often, but they always come after some time. Guys that are using the same method to enable HW encoding / decoding on Mac Pros 5.1 are reporting the same, and it seems more common for RX580 than for Vega(s).

And that was with previous WEG and Lilu. Now we'll see is there any difference with new versions (released today - 1.2.9 & 1.3.6)

I have an interesting situation, I have hardware encoding/decoding active as shown...

I tried a few test encodes (H.264) full movies via HandBrake, and each movie took ~17min (YaY).

I did some more recently, and encode time is now ~35min (BoO)

Do you need to paste those two Terminal lines every boot? (defaults write... etc.)

Any help or guidance greatly appreciated. (does Handbrake even USE hardware encoding?)

Cheers.

EDIT: Using i7-8700 + RX 580 8GB + 16GB RAM...

Using iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS with Intel disabled in BIOS, and dummy141.kext installed.

Remove dummy.kext , there's no need in 10.14.5 .

You too, remove dummy.kext .

I don’t have freezing in FCPX, maybe because I am injecting the framebuffer Orinoco, 33W at idle.

I used iMac Pro 1,1 and iMac 19,1 with Sapphire RX 580 4GB and IGPU enabled.

Hello!
I can't get H264 hardware acceleration running. I tried already several approaches and at least got HEVC working though setting my MacModel. Can somebody help me get this to work?

My system is in the signature I believe. :)

What I have tried already:
(ref: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-h264-does-not-support-hevc-hw.240353/page-87)

1. Enable IGPU in BIOS, Inject->Intel=Yes, and use connector-less ig-platform-id=0x01620007. Or,
2. Change SMBIOS model type to iMacPro1,1. But you will get green glitches in the H.264 output. Or,
3. Keep your SMBIOS as-is and add boot flags: shikigva=32 and shiki-id=Mac-7BA5B2D9E42DDD94. Or,
4. Wait for MacOS 10.14.5 update
