Remember that this guide is not for the 7020 Dells. Those need a different System Def. SSDTs and config.plist to work properly. We don't support the 7020 or 9020 in this thread.

Could you link me to the adapter? I'm planning on upgrading to a modular psu. Thank you.
Also note that the PSU will not fit if over 140mm in length. Measure from the side the power switch is located, to the side where the cables all plug in to.

@Poli169
You don't need the adapter for the 9010/Q77 that you have. Only for the one generation newer 7020/9020. On the 9010 motherboard there is a standard 24 pin connector. As you'll see in the pic below they changed to a proprietary 8 pin on the Q87 chipset 7020/9020.

So don't buy the 24 pin to 8 pin adapter. Below is the 9020 board. Dell moved the Sata0 and Sata1 ports enough to the left so they can still be used without the L shaped Sata cables underneath the GPU shroud. The 9010 is not like this. An RX 580 card is over nine inches long and covers up the ports.

This is how far an RX580 will reach installed on a 9010 or 7010 MT, just up to the USB 3 header.

Here's the solution for blocked Sata ports on a 7010 or 9010 MT board. Silverstone makes these special Sata cables.

@trs96 as far as cpu the I7 3770 is the highest for the motherboard on the 9010 correct? Or can it be upgraded? Thanks again for all the help.

That's the best you can do. 4 cores and 8 threads. It works well for most tasks.

Realtek USB Wifi Adapters
These should not be your first choice for Wifi. The Broadcom cards that you can install in a PCIe slot are going to give you the fastest speeds. They also work natively. There are some situations where you don't have the option to go the Broadcom card installed in a PCIe slot route. In that case you could try one of these Realtek USB wifi adapters. I have tried a few of the TP-Link versions in the past. I don't use them currently. These will work with the right drivers but as I've said, the speeds you get will not match what a Broadcom card installed to PCIe will give you.

Packages for Hackintosh PC or Laptop
Known Working and Tested Adapter

  • EDIMAX- EW-7722UTn V2
  • EDIMAX N300
  • TRENDnet N150 Micro
  • TL-WN823Nv3
  • TL-WN823Nv2
  • TL-WN725Nv3
  • TL-WN722Nv3
  • TL-WN821Nv6
They are relatively inexpensive and give you basic connectivity if you don't have an ethernet connection to use.
See Chris1111's Github page for more info on this. I've attached the app he made for installing the drivers below.

@trs96 I ordered the one recommended from Newegg fenvee I believe. That should work without drivers correct? And can probably use on a later build.

Yes, native support. Use it in any PCIe slot that works.

@trs96 any recommendations on replacement fans for the case and a new heatsink or just a fan upgrade?
