[Guide] HP Elite 8300 & 6300 Pro (all form factors) using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Hi there. $9 sounds very cheap for a proper Apple card, but then I am not used to US prices. I don't know any differences between the AX variant - a very quick search and the AX version doesn't seem well talked about. If there was a readily available card that worked for $9 then I suspect more people would be talking about it? A further thread indicates the AX is an m2 card?

Does your wifi work? Have you connected USB internally? Do you have another USB device you could connect internally to check that the header is working?

I do not recall having to do anything special to get mine to work; apart from connecting to the internal USB header. I don't think there were BIOS changes, and I can't recall exactly what was needed in Clover re USB patching but if you have used a guide here it will be the same as mine. I just plugged it in, connected USB header up internally, connected antennaes and powered the machine back on and wifi and bt work just like on a genuine mac.
I did dual boot into Windows 10, and installed the Bootcamp drivers for Broadcom WiFi and Blutetooth. Both are working great after that in Windows 10. In macOS mojave, WiFi is working great as well. Bluetooth is not even recognized.

Hmm that is odd then. Not sure. If you can test the USB port with another device on the mac side, it would let you know if you have the USb port settings configured properly. Good luck!

These CS2 cards can also be found on Ebay for a small amount of money. They generally always work for Wifi and BT. It's from 2013 just like the CSAX card is. The difference is that they shipped in the MBA.

@phrozenpenguin, that was it! Awesome suggestion that I continued to miss...

Thanks to @trs96 Optiplex guide, I had already purchased a USB type A -> 9pin male header cable. I connected that cable to a front-side USB 2.0 port (one that I had the keyboard in, which I shifted over by one port) and then the mini PCIe adapter USB cable connected to that, thus avoiding the internal header altogether.

It works! So indeed, there is a configuration problem on the USB ports (Rehabman says that is ALWAYS the problem with Bluetooth; I should have listened.

Now, I need someone's help in rooting out exactly what is wrong with the USB config such that the external ports are all working, but the internal header is not.

BTW, I also removed Rehabman's BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext, BrcmPatchRAM2.kext and BrcmNonPatchRAM2.kext, as they don't seem necessary for Apple native BCM94360CSAX card, and indeed the bluetooth is working. I connected up an Anker A7909 Speaker and its playing fine with no drops. The BT module is displaying in System Profiler as Broadcom 20702A3, VendorID=0x05AC,ProductID=0x8286,Firmware=v156 c5918

@Sniki , I have followed this guide and now need your help.

I have an HP Compaq 8300 Elite Ultra-Slim PC (USDT) model, and I apparently have all of the external USB ports working using your guide, however, it seems as if the internal header is not active.
I have attached IOReg zipped output after plugging in USB 2.0 Dell Multimedia Pro Keyboard into every external port, followed by Sandisk UltraFit 3.0 32G thumbdrive into every external port.

I've also checked the BIOS, under the Security tab, under USB Security, and it shows 4 front-side ports Enabled, 6 rear-side ports Enabled, and 4 Accessory ports Enabled (it doesn't call these last 4 Internal; HP Compaq Business PC Maintenance and Service Guide matches the BIOS nomenclature).

Would you help build a specific USDT USB solution that includes the internal USB header? This will enable Bluetooth connected miniPCIe adapter cards for full Airdrop, Continuity & Handoff functionality. I'd be happy to be a tester.

I have a working HP8300 USDT that was configured using pastrychefs guide. The USB header works and I am happy to help if required - you will have to let us know what files/things I could check.

Can you point me to the guide? I'll take a look at the steps and compare to what I have done following this guide.

pastrychefs guide is to a SFF... however you have a USDT and it is working...
Can you share with me the SSDT and I'll try to find differences in the USB injection.

I know the card is cheap at $9. And the adapter was $13 on Amazon.
I have removed both the AirportBrcmFixup.kext and the bluetooth kexts BcrmFirmwareRepo.kext, BrcmPatchRAM2.kext and BrcmNonPatchRAM2.kext from /L/E, rebuilt the cache, and rebooted. With the adapter USB cable connected outside of the case into a known-working USB 2.0 port on the front-side, everything works. WiFi+BT. WiFi shows up as an Aircard, BT as 20702A03 on USB 2.0.

So I'm pretty impressed with the card and adapter. 3 antenna attached to the card. No additional kexts. I'm amazed it is working. In fact, the Apple Wireless Keyboard works at the Clover Bootloader screen. I can toggle between any choice, select alternate OS (Windows 10), set boot options, etc.

Still, I want to get the internal header working on this USDT, so that I can close up the case. phrozenpenguin has his working on the internal header, so it's just a matter of sorting it out.
