I just bought a sapphire RX580 to replace my nvidia card so I can upgrade to mojave, but I am struggling to get it to boot. After the bootloader it just goes to a black screen. Having read a few posts I am beginning to suspect it is not compatible with my GA-z68-ud5-b3 motherboard. I see people saying to disable iGPU but this is not an option in my motherboard's bios. Can anyone tell me if its possible (and how if so!) to get it working with this motherboard, or am I going to have to upgrade the board too?

Can I ask what Wattage your power supply is?.

Your motherboard does not support using the CPU integrated graphics.

Your motherboard still uses the old BIOS and not UEFI, and Gigabyte did not provide an update to UEFI to this motherboard on its website. I suspect this may have something to do with your difficulties. I am not sure if old traditional BIOS motherboards can work with new graphics cards like RX 5xx or GTX 10xx or newer.

Did you use the Lilu and WhateverGreen kexts?
