Hey @izo1 friend!

I bought the card you suggested in the image attached. It seems ok, I got faster and more reliable signal for WiFi and Bluetooth than the old card, but the older Fenvi bt 4.0 card had no issues with sleep/wake. I used same pci slot and made non mods in macos, but the new one wakes the system a couple of seconds after it falls asleep. Any hints?

EDIT

Seems to be a common issue with BCM943602CS, solved using a "255" code instead of "0" to my internal HS09 usb header in the usb kext (already customized for 15 port limit). I don't know exactly how I modified my usb kext ahaha but it's done! Anyway, it seems setting internal header to "255" completely switches off power to that port during sleep, so it wakes up with power button but not with keyboard and mouse. the old card BCM94360CS is from an iMac, the new BCM943602CS is from a macbook, this could be the source of the issue?! Probably... DAMMIT! I'll slash 10K euros into the new Mac Pro I think! ahahah

Chrome is definitely accelerated for me and Hardware Acceleration (chrome://gpu flag) is enabled by default. I don't really notice a difference coming from Vega FE. Chrome is really a piece of garbage, but I'm forced to use it :geek:

Cinebench R20 results (I'm still tweaking stuff in the BIOS, but for now it's all stock)

No R15 results.

Nice results. Seems VSCode is still not accelerated, which is what I'm honestly waiting for before switching to Radeon VII or Navi (when it comes).

This is what it usually looks like:

Yes use 255 for the USB. Sleep works fine for me, but I don't use it. I can wake it up from the keyboard (Apple Spacegray iMac Pro keyboard).

How are your Energy Saving settings looking like?

Here's mine.

Are you manually making it go sleep?

Interesting, it seems the R7 is not fully accelerated and I can say that performance in Adobe CC2019 is not what it should be. But at least it's accelerated.

I think final 10.14.5 will come out in June so let's wait and see what happens.

Same settings as yours a part for a 1jr standby time! Yes, I tried only manual stop, not 1hr auto timed

As long as it works you’re good

If you have any external hard drives via usb or thunderbolt devices connected it might mess with sleep.

just a tip for anyone running the h115 corsair cooler. boot to windows install the software and turn the pump to performance and adjust your fan speed setting. they are super conservative by default and causes the chip to to get quite hot. this will help.

A question to USB experts.

Does anyone know why external USB3.0 drives get the dreaded "please eject drive" notification when the displays go to sleep after a while? (computer is not set to sleep).

When I wake up the displays, the drives are still mounted so apparently when the USB drives go to sleep, it remounts and gives that notification.

It happens with every USB port? maybe you got "255" also on external ports? In any case, it shouldn't eject drives if the system isn't in sleep... strange.
