[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

As you all know I never was able to finish update from 10.14.3 > 10.14.4.
I was stuck on this or kext stall AppleACPICPU

So i just tried the kext folders from @Leesureone, no luck.
I also tried the kext folder of https://github.com/sarkrui/NUC8i7BEH-Hackintosh-Build, no luck at first.

But: I downgraded from BIOS v66 to v56 and now I'm able to watch my NUCintosh finishing the update, about 8 minutes remaining.

How To Downgrade Bios on Intel NUC8i7BEH (v56) - Power Button Method (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005532/mini-pcs.html)

1. copy BE0056.bio (unzip attached file) to fat32 usb
2. power of NUC
3. insert usb stick
4. press and hold power button until it turns from blue to orange, then release power button
5. wait for the bios recovery menu, press F4

6. Wait 2–5 minutes for the update to complete:

7. follow the instructions to turn off
8. turn on, enter bios F2
9. load defaults F9
10. set BIOS settings for macOS
- Boot -> Boot Configuration, disable "**Network Boot**"
- Power -> Secondary Power Settings, "**Wake on LAN from S4/S5**", set to "**Stay Off**"
- Boot -> Secure Boot, disable "**Secure Boot**"
- Devices -> OnBoard Devices, disable "**Bluetooth**" (macOS is not compatible well with Intel Wi-Fi/Bluetooth)

While I write this the update finished and I'm able to login again :)

Regards.

spoken about Bios updates for the NUC8I7BEH,NUC8I5BEH and NUC8I3BEH i see that intel has removed the las 2 versions of the bios updates ( 0064 and 0066 ) with the following reason:

Detailed Description
BIOS version 0064 has been removed from Download Center for technical reasons.

If you previously downloaded and installed this version and have questions, please contact Intel Customer Support.

Please check Download Center for new BIOS releases on a regular basis.
The current "latest" . version is now 0051 version 0056 cannot be found in their site , does anyone know why ?

i think that i will stick with version 51 for a while but i still think that it is a strange thing that 2 versions in a row have been removed due to technical reasons .

i found the info here

Three versions in a row, 56, 64 and 66. Who knows why.

Good day everyone. Had anyone luck with updating a Nuc7i5bnk from 10.14.3 to 10.14.4? While updating I was stuck on boot, the loading bar hasn't changed/moved. I used this tutorial for "removing" the update which didn't ran successfully (How to remove "Boot OS X install from partition" from Clover). Has anyone experienced the same problem?

Greetings

Hi @schlotterp. Do you know what version of clover you have installed? It may be as simple as updating your USB boot drive using the newest clover installer and then booting from it to finish the update, if that works eventually you would need to update your NUC clover version as well.

How does one go about fixing? Like put the right one ?
Boot from your USB installer then at the Clover menu screen select your hard drive and boot.
At the desktop mount your EFI partition, check your Clover folder and correct if required.
Obviously any files that you might need are included on the EFI partition of your USB installer.

What RAM are you using and in what configuration is it in? I had the same issue using 64GB of RAM (2x32GB) and I was able to get past this error by only using 1x32GB in the 1st slot.

@GATEW4Y, I think you had the issue you did because none of the NUCs, 7s or 8s, max out at 32 MB Ram. Figures with 64MB it wouldn't boot
