Hi guys, I just installed the Mojave and having a problem with my screen. When I turned off and turned on my monitor it's going black and does some glitchy things like showing a little screen for a moment and repeats some sort of things like that but no screen I'm afraid. I did a little research online but can't found a solution so can anyone help me with this?

Here's my Energy Saver options:

Here's my specs:
- MSI Z370 Gaming M5
- Intel i3 8100
- 1050Ti (But I cannot use it due to the Nvidia's non-existed web drivers. So I'm stuck with iGPU)

* I installed kexts to L/E with KextBeast and opened the Kext Utility for repairing permissions. As I writing this I deleted the Shiki.kext and make sure the WhateverGreen.kext is up to date. (Basically I reinstalled the WG kext)
** My 1050Ti is installed thou. Is it possible to cause such a problem?

  • Your Nvidia Ge Force GTX 1050 Ti has NO MacOSMojave Support.
  • Read about using Intel HD 630 in your MSI Z370 MoBo in macOSMojave and try that OR
  • install currently released AMD Radeon Rx types of PCIE graphics other than XFX brand.
  • There are older Nvidia Graphic in GTX and GT natively supported in Mojave : EX: Nvidia GT 710 OR search for others

Look into the whatevergreen documentation. There is an option to disable the external (in your case the 1050) graphic card completely in macOS. It is IIRC an option to set in the Devices/Properties section of Clover. It is available as a boot-flag as well.

macOS loves external GPUs and runs to them whenever allowed to. Like a child detecting sweets or ice cream.

Thank you for your reply. Can I just use the -wegnoegpu boot flag for not detecting external GPU? I didn't see 1050ti (aka ice cream :) ) in the system information section. Sorry for being complete noob but what's IIRC

* Is there anything I missed?

Thank you for your reply too but I'm already using the UHD 630 and I've already mention that in the first place. I'm actually thinking switching to the AMD but having got any chance to get rid of my 1050ti first.

After I delete the Shiki.kext and use -wegbeta boot flag I can now have screen after I closed and opened the monitor but I haven't tested the long term off yet. So I give it a try for sleeping but it goes into sleep a little late and wakes a little bit late too and there is a screen and everything but no use of anything. I can just move the mouse cursor but can't click anything. So I'm gonna try the -wegnoegpu now.

Update: No luck for sleep.

  • Sorry I missed your listing of Intel HD 630 as your Graphics.
    • Your profile had shown Mojave-Unsupported Nvidia PCIE
  • I did not see in your original EFI_CLOVER_ FileTree a config.plist _Devices what you have shown in currently uploaded screen shot in Devices SECTION.[See uploaded images]
  • Try physically removing the unsupported Nvidia PCIE card to verify whether that would help with your Graphics and video display.

Not OK.
Shiki.kext is deprecated - Now part of WhateverGreen.kext.
