[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I can audit your CLOVER configuration if you can provide the following:
  • Boot from USB install disk again, but choose "Boot macOS from Mojave".
  • Mount EFI partition, compress and upload the CLOVER folder.
  • Also post a screenshot of the /Library/Extensions folder.

here it is:

/Library/Extensions is 1:1 like in your guide

My current build (Asus Z390-F, i5-9600K, Sapphire Nitro Vega 64, Broadcom BCM94360CD, Samsung M.2 drive) is running perfectly with 10.14.5 Beta 2 and 19,1 SMBIOS, the only thing which is missing is Thunderbolt3.
Right now I wouldn’t have any use for it, but it could get interesting if Apple would release new displays some day. I still have time to return my board. I guess my build wouldn’t suffer anything at all, since it should also be a golden build, I would only have to invest 50€ and would therefor also have Thunderbolt3.
What do you guys think? Beside changing the hardware and setting up macOS again I guess it’s a no-brainer? Don’t know why I didn’t consider this board in the first place :D

Glad you were able to make it through. Are there any lessons to be shared about the issues you encountered?

Just that no matter how close one build is to another it is still a trial an error process and you have to be willing to read a lot of posts even on on different sites and try to piece everything together. I have built quite a few using all different parts so I have gotten pretty good at hunting things down. This guide using my specific motherboard was the best thing once I got past the initial sticking point.

The first line in the screenshot says OsxAptioFixDrv. Have you installed OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi in the drivers64UEFI folder? If so, feel free to compress and upload the CLOVER folder from EFI partition of the USB install disk. I can double-check your CLOVER configuration.

I started from scratch - same message. Here is the file, appreciate your patience.

Knowing Apple, the new rumored 6K Thunderbolt Display will likely merit the very definition of ‘sticker shock’! It should, however, include fairly good speakers, a FaceTime camera, a USB hub, Thunderbolt daisy chaining port, and ability to charge a connected device — all via a single TB3 cable.

Your CLOVER folder looks quite reasonable. We will have to examine other factors now:
  • What is the make/model of your M.2 SSD? Note that Samsung EVO 970 Plus drives are not compatible.
  • Do you have any SATA drives connected to any of the 6 internal SATA ports?
  • What is the BIOS version currently active? These motherboards can automatically revert to an older (F3) BIOS under certain circumstances, so there’s no guarantee that latest F6 is still running.
  • Have you tried re-flashing the BIOS and setting up the BIOS parameters again starting with “Save & Exit —> Load Optimized Defaults”?

I installed windows 10 and formatted disk, then rebooted and restarted with my USB and it is working (so far). Guess my multiple install attempts corrupted the SSD. Fingers crossed.
I'm pathetic, I need you to hold my hand... this is my current status (have not signed into iCloud) and I "think" I am ready to start "post install". Doesn't look like there are any "macOS" files on SSD (Intel SSD6 1 terabyte) yet.

BTW -- where do I send the six pack?

I've followed this exactly (same setup with i9-9900K + Vega 64) and the installer hangs on loading and won't pass the initial Apple logo. Using another method I manage to get to step 12/14 after booting twice. However, it hangs again rather than the graceful restart as expected. I feel like I am so close but can't figure it out after reading / trying every method - any help - or if anyone has had this and got past it - would be much appreciated!
