New AMD Radeon VII on my Hackintosh

Hi @MACAK which system definition are you using? Does it work with MacPro6,1 ?

I am currently on iMac19,1 but iMac18,3 works also quite well.

Sounds like the powerhouse native of out of box experience I’m looking for.

Is the pairing with an 8700 (non K) good enough or is that card going to be held up by the CPU?

Should be fine, but I bought mine knowing it’s a future GPU more than a current, as is my CPU which is the i9–9900K which is also not 100% supported yet. 10.14.5 should be a game changer though as it’s working well in the Beta.

It should over time becomes less expensive but since they are new it might be awhile. I bought a Sapphire version as they seem to work best.

I was just about to ask about brand. They all seem totally the same.
Are they actually different and one is “best” for Hack use?

I’d thought of the ASRock on for the 3 year warranty.

My research is that Sapphire has the fewest problems but since you haven’t purchased yet, you could watch what others do. This is the top AMD card so it will be interesting.

Good call. I also wonder if Navi might hold something of interest for me also.

It seems too wishful to hope for 10.13.6 backport of the Radeon VII driver with native performance/experience.

Yeah..I peg that at fairly low odds

How did you managed to download 10.14.5 onto usb stick, I struggle with this, it only lets me download 14.14.4....
