Did you try to update to the latest clover? That solved my problem during update to 10.14.4.

Anyone get 10.14.4 updated on the 7559 successfully? I have had nothing but issues.

Using a clone of my SSD, running Clover 4862, update crashes on first boot when initially starting update.
Updated Clover to 4895, and could no longer even boot.
Restored Clover to 4862 in order to regain boot.
Updated Lilu, Whatevergreen, AppleALC, and USBInjectAll to latest, and could not boot.
Restored same kexts using backups of them, cleared kextcache, and restored EFI folder from backup, but only black screen at boot. Turns out system is booting, but internal screen is black, while HDMI connected monitor works fine.

Tried to put everything back as it was, but could never get the internal screen to work. Wound up putting my original SSD back, and system boots fine.

I would be interested in hearing what the secret is to get this update installed and booting.
For 10.14.4 you need clover 4910 and to update lilu, whatevergreen, and applealc:
Clover 4910
lilu v1.3.5
AppleALC v1.3.6
WhateverGreen v1.2.7

Yeah...no go.

I carefully updated to Clover 4910, checked my EFI folder before and after to make sure the same .efi files were there (and manually chose those to be updated in Clover installer), and only FAKESMC.kext in kext/other folder.

Upon reboot, it hung at boot. Warm booted again and it booted through, but BT (for some reason) was inoperative. It's ALWAYS worked. I rebooted again, and everything was fine. Tested a few more reboots and everything was fine.

So, now on 4910, I tackled updating the kexts above. Downloaded to desktop, and using KextBeast, I installed to L/E.
Before rebooting I cleared the kext cache using "sudo kextcache -i /" command.

Rebooted. Half-way through the progress bar, it just reboots. I added a -v to Clover boot, but the output displays too fast to view or see what the problem is.

Obviously, something with the newer Lilu or WG or AppleALC is causing an issue somehow.

Is there something I should be doing when replacing these kexts or is there a way to troubleshoot?

Fortunately, I did all this on a clone of my regular SSD so I was able to reinstall the original and am back up and running.

Thats it. That solved my problem and 10.14.4 is running :)

Thank You

If you read my post before yours, I cannot get my 7559 to boot after updating Lilu/WG/AppleALC to those versions.

Can you detail the method you used to update those kexts? Are they on your EFI volume in CLOVER or in your L/E folder?

Am I doing it differently than you?

Thanks.

Great tutorial!
But I have a question...my laptop already have El Capitan installed, what I need to do to upgrade?
I Just need to download the update from the store and make the patching?

Thanks!

The Files must be in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other. I made a Zip file of my Other folder. You can replace it with your folder.

For fresh install put the files on USB STICK in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other. I tested it successfully too.

Good Luck

Thanks I will try. BUT, I am confused because everything I've read (especially from some highly regarded people here) says to ALWAYS install kexts in L/E except for FakeSMC. Now you say those three kexts should be in my EFI folder.

They are currently in L/E and it works fine. That's why I don't get why merely updating them causes my 7559 to crash on boot.
